Konami has revealed plans for Nintendo's WiiWare service with 3 confirmed games: Gradius, Contra and DRiiFT.
As part of the publisher's new "Network Business Development Department", one of the strategies to expand online activity into Europe includes an increased focus on downloadables for WiiWare, DSiWare, PSN, XBLA as well as the mobile/Apple side of the industry.
Gradius Rebirth - retains the 2D space action the franchise is known for, where players pilot their Vic Viper ship through a bunch of horizontally-scrolling stages infested with alien scum. New additions include a Score Attack Mode and replay system for those hard-fought battles.
DriiFT Mania - Top down racer for up to eight players to race about using cartoon characters. 12 tracks on 4 differently themed environments: cityscape, hills, snow and a desert oasis. Due later this month.
Contra Rebirth - A return for Konami's most loved 2D shooter. Pounce through a series of 2D levels and blast way with homing missiles, flame throwers and inflict massive damage with high-powered laser beams.
What do you think of Konami's efforts? Will you be downloading any of these titles in the coming months?
