Nintendo: Tingle Needs a Girlfriend and a Calculator on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Nintendo's perky fairy-lover Tingle will be featured in two separate titles for the DS/DSiWare.

The first is essentially a package of Tingle-themed tools for your DSi - for 500 points you'll be able to download a fortune teller, a stopwatch, calculator, a dancer that jiggles on your photo collection and an insanely handy coin flipping program. Yes, a coin flipping program. It's available on the DSi download service over in Japan from today.

The more exciting of the pair translates to "Colour Changing Tingle's Balloon Trip of Love", which works out to be a DS game where players try to help the poor fella find a girlfriend. Nintendo did localise his debut outing for European fans, so there's a fair chance that these new games will also receive an official translation.

I think tingle needs arather butch girlfriend to counter-act his campness, opposites attract nonetheless.

I think I'd rather he popped up in a Zelda game every now and then instead of spinning off to his own series...

It's just.... the LAST idea I'd have for a spinoff series. Although to be truthful I can't think of anything else spin-offy in Zelda. Smilie
