RE: Darkside Chronicles Story Details on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

A preview from the latest GameInformer has shown new story details from the upcoming Resident Evil: The DarkSide Chronicles.

The main focus of the exclusive Wii game is to retell events from Resident Evil 2 and CODE Veronica, bridging together aspects of the story through the first person perspective. There'll also be a section starring series favourite Leon Kennedy as he heads out to South America for a new "twist to the legendary RE narrative".

Interestingly there's a mention of "online - TBA" in the game information block. Online co-op being considered, perhaps?

Online co-op would definitely add some omph to the game, would be a worthy addition.

To be honest I have never bought a Residen evil game because Im excited to see how the story evolves. The story is a typical Bmovie horror story (cheesy and forgettable).
Its always been about the cheap scares and action that I loved.
And I maintain the scares cant be achieved by onrails. And the action is always one pace. So I wont bother buying this.

Online coop would definitly be a nice addition, hopfully it's not just leaderboards -_-

Indeed, shame SEGA for Ghost Squad... Moving along, I would welcome some online co-op goodness but perhaps with an "anonymous donor" option as well. So as to side step the lonely and lame who have no Wii packing pals.

I would've thought they'd have RE: Degeneration. Hopefully it will be a bit better than Umbrella Chronicles, because the difficulty on hard was f'ing difficult, unless you did co-op mode. Just from the firs trailer though, I know i'll like it.

Yes, hopefully not leaderboards. Leaderboards are the weakest form of online ever crafted.

If they do make a co-op mode though, it instantly makes this game more interesting.

Unless this South America segment takes place post-4 / 5, then it can't be TOO huge of a twist. The last time RE visited SA was for... Zero, I think? Billy's flashback scenes?
