Capcom to Localise Gyakuten Kenji? on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Capcom have trademarked "Ace Attorney Investigations" in the US, and it's sounding like a release for Gyakuten Kenji outside Japan.

Plans for a Western release of Phoenix Wright/Ace Attorney series spin-off have yet to be announced, leaving fans uncertain whether or not "Turnabout Prosecutor" would ever be translated. The game is different to the regular DS titles, this time following Edgeworth and Gumshoe through crime scenes as the pair piece together evidence to solve cases. With Ace Attorney Investigations in place, it's likely that it'll be used as the Western branding for Gyakuten Kenji given there currently aren't any unlocalised games to fill.

The game looks brilliant from the recent video I saw...and I'm glad the box art follows the same styling of the Ace Attorney releases - means fans will definitely see it as a mainline game, rather than a lowly spin-off.

It depends - Phoenix Wright's business may have expanded to include prosecutors, bringing Edgeworth under his wing. We won't know until the finer details of the new story are revealed Smilie

Not quite - but as it's part of the overall franchise, it'll do be better by having the "Ace Attorney" branding methinks

I've played the online demo a bit (in japanese).

Seems like gumshoe won't be the only character in the game who will follow Edgeworth. Maybe Wright will collaborate too ?

But wait i think i've read somewhere that the story takes place before the first Phoenix Wright game, which showcases the first trial Phoenix Wright fought, so Phoenix couldn't have been an attorney yet at the time, right ?

Dunno... it's all rather confusing. And at this time of morning... I'll think over theses matters later Smilie

It takes place soon after the events of Ace Attorney 3, so Phoenix will still be an Attorney at that time. Perhaps Gumshow and Edgeworth are somewhere else, like Edgeworth was away through most of the 2nd and 3rd games.
