By Adam Riley 02.02.2003 1

Recently the good folk at IGN Cube managed to get a hands-on playtest of the latest WWE game, Crush Hour. Here are just some of the game's highlights:

  • The ring has been ditched in favour of hot-rod vehicles for this Twisted Metal-inspired 'car-combat' game;
  • 30 licensed WWE Stars are available, including The Rock and Steve Austin;
  • Sports cars, impressive 4x4 beasts and even full blown semis are examples of the vehicle choice;
  • Each combatant will have access to weapons - the default usually being a moderately-sized machine-gun, with numerous upgrades to be collected (e.g. grenade launchers and laser-guided rockets;
  • 13 different levels are accessible;
  • There are several different ways to play, including exhibition and season modes;
  • Fairly intuitive control system;
  • Either play with three other friends, or add extra computer players for even more fun;
  • Ship date of 11th March, 2003;
  • Retail price of only $19.99 U.S.
