Monster Hunter G Coming to Nintendo Wii on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Capcom has now confirmed that in addition to Monster Hunter 3, it will be porting the PS2/PSP game 'Monster Hunter G' to Wii early next year. Famitsu magazine has revealed that the game is set for a Spring 2009 release in Japan and comes with two control schemes - the original from the PS2 or the revised PSP system. The game is currently at the 77% completion stage, will come with wide-screen support, six types of weapons and online content (although whether or not a fee will be required for this content is so far unknown).

Some small Monster Hunter 3 details were also revealed, with a new desert location unveiled, as well as a new rock monster. Apparently this is still only 40% complete, so chances are it may well be delayed to be a holiday 2009 game in Japan and perhaps this leaves room for a Monster Hunter 2G port as well during the Summer/Autumn period!

Do you think porting other Monster Hunter games to Wii is a good idea to build a userbase on the system? Or is it merely a cheap cash-in?

It's an excuse for removing Monster Hunter 3 exclusitivity. D:

is monster hunter 3 no longer a wii exclusive? on what other platforms will it appear?

There's a rumour that Capcom will make a PSP version of MH3 at some point...but it's only a rumour, stemming from a Capcom Exec saying exclusivity wasn't yet assured.

I feel that sticking MHG and maybe even MHG2 is definitely a good way of trying to migrate the fan-base from PSP/PS2 onto Wii...

Ive nvr played monster hunter b4 but it looks sweet

I wonder if this will be released outside of Japan. It could be a way to gauge the markets of Europe and NA for Monster Hunter 3 (as well as setting up a fan base, as you guys have already mentioned).

Damn I really wanted more info on monster hunter 3 not a damn port >.<

Makes sense, seeing as a lot of Wii owners have never played any game in the series.

Also more evidence the Wii in japan is now finaly the primary development platform.

testing the wather?

Never played it... But it sounds like a cash-in... Still might consider trying it... or not.

I sold my soul to Sony for a PS3...

Makes sense, and would be a fairly decent indicator of how well the franchise can do, and build up the hype for the awesome-looking 3rd one!

Really hope both head out to the West, it's definitely getting a good following over here!

I never played any Monster Hunter, but I would like to. Even a port. And maybe they putsome effort into it - it seems they do.
And since MH has a western approach to it's battle system and 3rd person... why not bringing it to the west? They would be stupid not to do so. It's a game that wouldn't feel out of friends among western games here...

I find your lack of faith disturbing!
