Id suggest thats more likely inspired by "the Luggage" from the Discworld books. Which, aside from walking and storing stuff was also known to attack people.

Agree that it is also a likely reference to the Luggage. Hah, I am happy my gf is not reading this as she would kill me for not mentioning that as she is a great fan of the Discworld books... <___<' Silly me for missing that. xD

The difference between illusion and reality is vague to the one who suffers from the former and questionable for the one suffering form the later.
