I think a lot of this comes down to poor advertising - still - and until Nintendo UK ups its game on this front, of course everything is going to keep sliding down regularly. Microsoft has shown what can be achieved with the Xbox One, so Nintendo should follow suit. Sony had the market almost wrapped up immediately with PS4, but XB1 has gradually clawed its way back from the edge thanks to constant promotion.

It's crazy how many people still don't even know that the WiiU exists. The adverts are too similar to Wii adverts. They need a strong campaign with something unique that will stick in peoples heads like the meerkats or Go Compare.

Exactly. I actually did sell one person on Wii U a few weeks ago. She wanted to get her son a PS4, but he's 7 and loved playing Wii. When I told her about Wii U, though, she had no idea what it was. Is that like a new controller? Maybe like Skylanders? Totally clueless. But she definitely knew what the PS4 was.

Nintendo has lost touch with the non-gaming / casual market, and still isn't doing enough to capture that so-called 'hardcore' group. So where does it stand? Between a rock and a hard place, methinks.

That's very true. There are some great games - exclusives as well - that could definitely sell the system. However, it's almost like the team
here in the UK really dropped the ball. Part of the problem is that the team that helped push the Wii U and DS isn't there any more. It's a new group a N UK...and it tells. A change in attitude and a lack of direction.
