I don't understand, I see so many threads saying "Oh wouldn't it be great if (insert well known game here) came out on the GC! Do you think it ever will?"

You bought a GameCube to play Nintendo games, right? If you want GTA, get a PS2, if you want Halo 2, get an Xbox. These games wont come out on GC, ok? You buy Nintendo console for Nintendo games, you shouldn't even think about the 3rd party games when you get a Nintendo console, because they're either all on other consoles, or will be ported later on. Are some people getting bored with the lack of Nintendo epic games on the GC? I know I am, and I guess it will change soon with some good games on the way, but a lot of people seem to be lusting after other console's games, so I just wondered why?

Screw it, I'm feeling fanboyish today.

There is a certain magic about Nintendo consoles, such that games that appear on them are always more enjoyable than they are on other consoles. Nintendo are the best company in the whole world and I want nothing more than for them to be successful.

End.

I could just as much say you buy a PS2 for Sony games.
Its ridiculous to assume that 3rd party support isnt taken to account by Cube buyers. The support of Sega, Capcom and Namco have been key to the success of the Cube at many times.

Just because Sony sign exclusivity agreements, and a few companies cant be arsed to support Cube (hello codemasters and rockstar) doesnt mean that 3rd parties are irrelevant.

You wont get Nintendo games on PS2, much like you wont get SCEE/SCEA/SCEJ games on Cube... but third party support is just that; and its down to negotiations and money whether that happens.

BEAM, you're always fanboyish on here mate Smilie

I'd say it works both ways; they want some of our games, like Resi Evil 4 (just like magic...) while we'd like some of their games, like Splinter Cell to come onto the Gamecube because -

- We can't all afford 3/2 consoles, or we don't want to

-It'd be cheaper

-Less delays and waiting time for the damned things even

I don't want any PS2 games!

I just want them all on the GC cause i thinks its the nicest console and having all games on one machine means I dont have to keep flipping the swtich on the scart Smilie

We can dream and it isnt wrong to wish
i mean we get the console and then the next week a cool game on another console comes out. It happens
And most people arnt made of money so we cant go and buy every machine that is out

LOOKS LIKE YOU NEED A DOSE OF VITAMINE M!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :bond:

The reason people will consider buying a 2nd console is because there are hardly any decent titles worth buying on the GC these days. In the 1st 18 months I bought 30+ GC games. So far in 2004 I've bought 2, with only MP2 on the horizon. 3rd party support is almost non existent unless you want to play kids titles like Harry Potter. Look at the number of multi-format games on the XBox, and consider that as the XBox is the most powerful of the 3 machines, it should also have the best version.

When you can get an XBox and copy of Outrun 2 for just

ummm, just buy them all, if you haven't got enough money, get a job, then... stop whining

30+ games?! I am taking my time, beating Metriod Prime through on all levels and getting 100% completion and it's kept me busy along with Wind Waker, SSBM and F-zero for the 2 years I've had my cube...You people play through your games way to fast.

Gods in His Heaven. Alls right in the World.

Hmmmm, Pro Evolution Soccer 4 and Halo 2 Xbox Live gameplay... *drools*

Not sure me and my girlfriend can survive that!!

Come on, consoles are dirt cheap now, for the price of 2 or 3 games you could get a new console.

But the "why isn't X game on the Gamecube" are pointless. If you wanted the game enough to bother typing out that thread, you should just go and buy another console.

That's how you sum up one of beam's typical days.

i have PS2 and Gamecube. the Gamecube i bought and the PS2 was a gift cause they're cheap now. The PS2 does have a huge game library, which i'll admit is one of the GC drawbacks, but i still enjoy my Gamecube better. mostly because a majority of PS2 games have no replay value and im baised.

I think you're right. But I have a compulsive disorder that means if a good game gets released I have to buy it as soon as it comes out rather than wait til I need a new game. Same with dvd's. However, I've often bought 2nd hand, or imported so it hasn't cost too much. Plus I only keep the top titles and sell the rest when I've finished with them. In this way I only have 19 games at the moment. Though I am getting better. Took all my will power to resist the temptation to buy Burnout 3...at least until I've completed Outrun 2.

Really must go back to some of the GC games I've barely played. i.e.:

F-Zero GX
Metal Gear Solid:Twin Snakes
Viewtiful Joe
Soul Calibur II

Also need to complete:

Metoid prime (only 30 mins from end, can't beat winged boss).
Eternal Darkness.
