A year... Nearly a year! Since last E3 - as I always say, time is going to fast!

It's fast approaching, which means it's time for the official thread to appear. This is the place for all E3 discussion. Post funny GIFs and videos, talk about the games at the show, what you expect to be shown? Talk about each press conference. All the usual stuff really. Smilie

Of course, IRC is essential and a yearly tradition for Cubed3, so as always, here's the link to the IRC channel we usually use. You can access it through a client like ChatZilla though (I think).

Man I'm so pumped for e3! Not too long now and with MK8 out in a few days, the days should hopefully fly by Smilie

Nintendo Network ID: LKR000               PSN: LKR000
3DS: 1246-8696-120                              GT: LKR101

It's come so soon! I just can't imagine Nintendo truly blowing people away with lots of new stuff.

Expected:

  • Bayonetta 2 (+ release date).
  • More "X" footage.
  • More from Pokémon R&S remakes.
  • More Hyrule Warriors footage + date
  • Wii Sports Club - physical package/release
  • Sonic
  • Super Smash Bros 3DS/Wii U
  • New NFC Projects
  • Something from Retro
  • Watch_Dogs
  • Yarn Yoshi
  • Few indie releases
Hopefully:

  • New Zelda - I am hopeful Nintendo will show something - maybe a teaser trailer at the very least, but am thinking they may possibly hold off to give HW room to breathe.
  • New 3D Mario "Galaxy" styled single player game.
  • Possible DLC or expansion for Super Mario 3D World.
  • New Metroid
  • New Star Fox
  • GameCube classics reborn on Wii U (either up-scaled or simple VC ports).
  • New 3DS Zelda (Majora's Mask remake?)
  • New Wii U Kirby
  • New Sin & Punishment
  • New F-Zero
  • New Golden Sun
  • New Fire Emblem for Wii U
  • New 3D Pokemon "Stadium" game for Wii U (compatible with X/Y)

I'll be watching Nintendo's Digital Event as it streams since the rest aren't in ideal times, well except MS, but I found the ones I've seen from them boring anyway.

I don't expect Watch Dogs to be at Nintendo's Digital event, at most I think we'll get an obligatory trailer.

We'll definitely get something with the new Zelda, I remember Aonuma saying something about getting some details at E3.

Also, we've got the Nintendo Treehouse thing which is in three segments, and 2 developer interviews, one of them is on an unannounce game.

Treehouse Live will broadcast:
Tuesday, June 10: 11:35 AM PT - 4:00 PM PT (7:35 PM - Midnight BST)
Wednesday, June 11: 9:15 AM PT - 6:00 PM PT (5:15 PM - 2:00 AM BST)
Thursday, June 12: 9:30 AM PT - 5:00 PM PT (5:30 PM - 1:00 AM BST)

Nintendo almost have to air some Zelda footage - everyone is expecting it, so will be a huge disappointment if it doesn't show up at some-point during the event, really. I can understand they would want to make Hyrule Warriors the prime focus for this year, but a little snippet for new "true" Zelda, would be great. Playable demo would be epic.

Here are the US times (east coast) for everything

MONDAY
Microsoft: 12:30pm
EA: 3:00pm
Ubisoft: 6:00pm
Sony: 9:00pm

TUESDAY
Nintendo: 12:00pm
Live from Nintendo Treehouse 2:35pm - 7:00pm
Super Smash Bros. Invitational 7:00pm-10:00pm

WEDNESDAY
Live from Nintendo Treehouse 2:35pm - 7:00pm

THURSDAY
Live from Nintendo Treehouse 12:15pm - 9:00pm

I would love to see what Retro Studios is working on now. Under normal circumstances I don't think we'd hear anything about it, since it would be early in development (Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze only shipped in February) and they've been maybe, at the earliest, been working on it since November. However, because of the need to increase Wii U's sales I think it is possible that we could maybe get a teaser.

I do fully expect to see the next game from Next Level Games. Their last game, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon shipped in March 2013, so they've been working on something for at least 14+ months. I would love a new Strikers game, but I would also love to see them handle another more story based game like LMSmilieM.

I expect to hear a lot more solid info on games that we've previously only gotten teasers for like XShin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem, Hyrule Warriors and Yarn Yoshi.

The next Zelda game is fully expected as well as info on the Nintendo Figurine Platform.

I'm sure there will be a couple of surprises as well. There is that 90-minute session dedicated to a new 3DS game (will that be announced in the main event or specifically at that special event?).

Microsoft later today, who's excited?

I'm kind of just... Meh! I'm not too interested, but I'll probably end up watching it if others are, just for the group chat fun.

Ah, indeed! Cheers Smilie !! Not the most convenient time for me, as I will most likely be in the middle of eating dinner, but I might watch it if I can.

Nintendo's own presentation is, also, at the worst possible time for me as well :/, for that matter.

Really feel like this could be the best E3 in many years, on a personal level. Not setting hopes too high, but there could well be so many reveals of my favourite franchises this year.

This is like the least excited I've been for E3 ever, but that could be a good thing really. It means if anything big is announced, It'll just make it more exciting. I think it's just the past few years have been so lackluster in terms of games that interest me, apart from Nintendo's offerings.

The strange thing for me is that almost all non-Nintendo games I'm interested in never get revealed or even shown at E3, so my excitement for the other conferences is naturally limited.

I can't wait! Unfortunately, I am going to miss the press conferences and the Nintendo digital event. I am going to try to avoid spoilers, and watch them after I get home tomorrow.

Working like a fiend isn't very fun... and surprisingly isn't very fiendish either.
