Danger: Nintendo Once Toyed with Game Boy Games on Smartphones

No, mainly because the GBA was still thriving and the original had the ability to play GB games anyway. They would be better off re-releasing GB games for the GBA. 

I think the e-Shop is really missing out on a trick by not releasing more GB games and the ones that they have done are at a ridiculous price point. Some games that you can get for free or for 69p on the app store are more appealing that a game which is over 20 years old, probably badly ported and at £4.49!
