I'm quite fond of the mat design actually! And the fact it's blue and black here reminds me fondly of my black and electric blue fat Nintendo DS, which I still like to take out to play original DS games, cause they look crap on the 3DS screen.

That's something I would have liked to know by the way. How do DS games look on the 2DS?

Another info I'd quite like to find is about the battery life of the system, compared to the original and the XL.

Battery life fared well, though it is the same as the original 3DS apparently. Lasted me a good 4/5 hours playing a 3DS game offline, though the wireless option turned to on (there's no wireless switch).
