My two favourite fighting games of all time, to tell you the truth, they are two of the only 3 fighting games I ever liked. They are both top notch and I can not decide which one is better...so I want you guys to debate. I will just give everyone a quick rundown:

Super Smash Bros Melee (SSBM):

Pros:
-Stars all the loved nintendo characters
-Only four player simultaneous fighting game
-very chaotic battles
-Amazing level design
-Loads of Characters
-Loads of levels
-a lot of unlockables replayability
-original
-easy to learn, hard to master
-Many options
-Many different modes
-great cinematic intro
-very customisable
-can play co-op or vs

Cons:
-Camera can be a bit annoying at times
-The fighting is too simple

Soul Calibur II:

Pros:

-Very fast paced and intense battles
-Good intro cinematic
-it is a weopan fighting game
-you can choose and buy your own weopans
-a lot of replayability
-a lot of unlockables
-great multiplayer
-not as customised as SSBM, but still is very customised
-good museum
-good characters
-Easy to pick up

Cons:
-The levels are not as good as they could have been
-The dungeons are horrible
-They could of implemented an adveneture mode likw in SSBM

Now that I think about it, I think smash bros is better. Anyway, debate away

erm...i pick Soul Calibur 2...it lasted me longer then SSBM and it was so "button mashingly boring* as SSBM

Soul Calibur 2 for sure, they're both brilliant games, but SC2 is in a different league to SSMB.

SSBM....its more fun, made by nintendo, and you have to have good stratigies(in soul calibur all you do is hit buttons), and there is more things to do in ssbm

What is with this sudden flood of topics named 'Debate' anyhow Smilie

SSBM soul calibour 2 was abit of a dissapointement to much button mashing and the edge master mode was shit compared to soul blades. PLus SSBM multiplayer beats the hell outa SC2s

SSBM, because of it's superior multiplayer modes.

After a long think I have decided apon Super Smash Brothers Melee.

Soul calibur may be more complex I still would say that SSBM contains a sort of subtle complexity, and is vastly more playable/replayable than Soul Calibuir.

1 player mode calibuir wins hands down however.

Over all though I pick Smash Brothers.

I like the multi. in SSBM better than SC's. That's basically what it comes down to. the only other thing I like better in SSBM is the levels.
Really comes down to taste, though. Both great!!!

Definately SSBM. That game lasted me way longer. I still play it actually. I like how much more fast paced it is than normal fighting games. 300 hours on it and counting...

heres hoping for a DS version although a portabe soul calibour would be just as nice

SSBM by a long shot. So much more to do, and its just more crazy and fun with more people. Its always fun when you have someone to play with.

SC2 is much better. They make Link look cooler too.But SSBM has two Links. Smilie Im confused now Smilie
