I just found on planet rock, they've got some jet sample stuff. Its got a video, and their latest single, "cold hard bitch" too. If you haven't seen em, they're definitely worth a look. I'll have a bit of an explore to see if there's anything elseSmilie
...
Anyway, this is a show samples of your favourite songs thread, like that muse stuff from a few months ago. Maybe we can rate other people's songs or something too Smilie

~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Duffman ~~~~~~~~~
"If you make yourself really small, you can externalize virtually everything", Daniel Dennett
Godspeed you Black Emporer! - "The dead flag Blues" or "Static"
I doubt most of you will be into music I like, though I'll post some more recommendations later.
A little known band (shame Ikari recomended it to me just so he doesent say anything Smilie ) I am Kloot, Especially Proof, Thre feet tall, Favourite sky.
Muse (in case any of you STILL dont listen to them) any song by muse is great if you buy an album chances are you cant go wrong at all.
Gorrilaz, again if you buy an album you cant really go wrong all of their music sounds cool, More for kind of modern techno lovers.
Ska wise (although I dont think they have a SERIOULSY defining ska sound although if yo ulisten you notice they are ska) Reel Big fish, why cant we be friends, everything sucks, Monkey man,
The Pixies, Here comes your man, Debaser,
Franz Ferdinand, Bang Bang, Jacqueline, Dont start (all good tracks)
The Vines, Again anything by them, The Factory , outtathaway, Paint it black (a very nice cover better than the original)
The Hives, Hate to say I told you so, All I can think of at the mo' very good band though.
A lot of the bands I mentioned are indi :-/ now if only I knew what Indi was a little help here peoples!
We're mentalist psychic Scots, which means we can read your mind. If you're lying, your head explodes and we laugh
also try powderfinger, in the "the zone" section
especially their full video clip of "on my mind"
if you haven't heard them before, and you like rock music, you must listen to this...
you guys should search up some downloads for these songs...
I don't have and file sharing programs, and I'm too lazy to find these things myself Smilie
Yellow Stripe Nine, an unsigned band in a similar vein to franz ferdinand.
Mew, their album is called frengers, and is beautiful
Universal Hall Pass, Melissa Kaplan, who has yet to release her debut album, but there are a few sample songs on her website (which I'm currently optimising for her).
Splashdown, the band ^^^ previously belonged in, kinda bizarre, but lyrics are superb, pity their album "blueshift" never got released, but you can pick up the full album at a high quality for free.
New bands or old?
Anyway i am listening to quite a bit of old American punk at the moment
PUNK
you definitely might
I would like to add "Explosions in the sky" and the song: A poor mans memory.
(for fans of instrumental music)
Damien Rice's O is great,
Bic Runga, beautiful collision
Jet, like Martin said,
Athlete,
and of course, The Goldie lookin' chain
This has turned out to be a very enlightening evening
"Explosions in the sky" and Audioscrobbler (<--- this really is a gem).... Cheers for the tips Smilie
Oh, Oh, i know bands, listen to me!
Anyway...
Here are my recomendations seperated into categories, as some smart chap did previously:
Rock -> Heavy Metal:
Trapt
Three Day's Grace
Adena
Athena (i liked their entry into Euro-Vision, so they get an honorable mention)
Dry Cell
Earshot
Lost Prophets
The Butterfly Effect
Pop:
The Rasmus (yes they are a little heavier then pop, maybe pop-rock, but they aren't rock, but still good)
Punk -> Pop-Punk -> EMO:
Dashboard Confessional
Motion City Soundtrack
Sugarcult
Bowling for Soup
Ok Go
Stroke 9
The Pillows
These are all the bands I like that are reletively unheard of in my little corner of the world, sorry if you all know about them all ready, but they're my recomendations, enjoy.
Arkyris.
Definitely adding my voice to Pixies, Godspeed You Black Emperor! and The Mars Volta. And if you like Pixies, check out the Breeders too (And Frank Black & The Catholics).
On top of these, strong recommendations go out to Death In Vegas, PJ Harvey, Nick Drake, Tom Waits, Mogwai, Nick Cave...
...*takes deep breath*
I'll stop there for now.
msen (that's your new nickname, its much easier that way) what's sorta music do you like? and I'm not particularly into illegal file sharing...
that music plasma thing was really cool Smilie
in fact, I'll be googling godspeed, and hopefully I'll findtheir official page
...
I can say myself:
I hate:
Backstreet boys
Three days grace, and the Rasmus are okay
I quite like:
the vines
Franz Ferdinand
I should give Reel Big fish a shot... the radarplasma thing says its my sorta music taste
Smilie
...
whats not to like about powderfinger?
...
and when you say you don't like bands, I wanna hear ohw much you don't like them Smilie I want some action!
