Gotta love Nintendo's pricing for updating Wii VC games to WiiU:
NA: - NES = $1 SNES = $1.50
EU: - NES = €1 SNES = €1.50
UK: - NES = £1 SNES = £1.50
Just loooove it... :/

By that logic...
JP: NES = ¥1 SNES = ¥1.50
Someone should send "Currency conversion for dummies" to the department in charge of pricing >__>
We do get shafted ever so slightly but maybe this is due taxes being higher in Europe?
I still find it slightly bad that we have to pay full stop...
Miiverse integration is nice but if Nintendo really wanted me to purchase a ton of virtual console titles they'd add two more features.
I'm still going to pick up some Virtual Consoles but I'd get a lot more with the above.
Genuine question here, but if you already have the Wii VC game of say Super Mario Bros (NES) and then pay the £1 to upgrade it to the Wii U version then do you get to keep both? As in play in 50hz and 60hz (PAL and NTSC) ???

Good point actually, might be worth testing it out - can anyone validate that for us?
I think it would keep the Wii one on the Wii portion of the system and have the Wii U edition on the Wii U part.
Looked into it. You keep both games.

Of course the UK are getting screwed over the most.
That's very rarely not the case. Good old currency conversions.
I might be wrong, but isn't Super Mario World cheaper now than it was on the Wii VC. Not defending the miniscule selection but I'm enjoying playing it on the TV.

It reeks. Off-TV-Play is core feature of the console, it's one of the primary selling points. Fact is many bought Wii U assuming these VC games would playable on the controller,
It takes the insertion of a simple chunk of code to have a game running on the Wii U screen, this process is supposedly very easy according to some developers such as the recently shut down Vigil Games.
Nintendo are charging money for this simple process. The question I ask is why. I recently asked Capcom this:
"What I'd like to know is if Capcom's previously released Wii VC content needs to be resubmitted to Nintendo for approval. I know the code needs slight reworking to run on Wii U with Off TV-Play. Are Capcom required to perform this adjustment, or does Nintendo?.
I want to get to the bottom of this. My guess is that Nintendo may be charging money for adjustments to code they're aren't even going to do for third-party titles, but are instead charging for the resources needed for their sluggish approval system.
