Nintendo is launching the Game Boy Advance SP "Classic NES Edition", along with eight original NES Classics for the Game Boy Advance on 9th July 2004 in Europe.

The eight NES Classics to be released are as follows:

1. Super Mario Bros. - Publisher: Nintendo
2. Donkey Kong - Publisher: Nintendo
3. Ice Climber - Publisher: Nintendo
4. Excitebike - Publisher: Nintendo
5. The Legend of Zelda - Publisher: Nintendo
6. Pac-Man - Publisher: Namco
7. Xevious - Publisher: Namco
8. Bomberman - Publisher: Hudson

I was reading this on Jeux-France earlier today, but wasn't sure about its authenticity...but hey, July can't come soon enough if it's true!

Yay. Amazing news! Now then, that is a proper special edition GBA: SP. Not like that fricking shite-arsed 'Tribal' piece of crap. A nice selection of titles too! The series is a nice (but cynical) move by Nintendo, whilst I am sure many would love to see them doing NEW games rather than old ones on new platforms, it is nice that a new generation of gamer will perhaps be able to enjoy such gaming mastery Smilie

Smilie I'm geting my Post Count up lol

No sooner said than done: here we are

I can't believe Nintendo bought this to Europe, very good news indeed. I still have a falling to pieces-slightly buggered GBA, so perhaps an SP investment is in order come July 9th Smilie

Smilie well look at that thank you

When I said this two months ago I was told it was for the US only.

While this is good for me, I really feel as if Nintendo may be digging up their past glories a bit too much, and really need to bless us with the new breed of games. Course this could all be one attempt to make some fast money...

I don't think that's your fault. Stuff like this always does seem to get vague or inaccurate release information.

The carts are fairly priced at

You know, I love Nintendo, but they are the masters of ripping off consumers.

As if the Super Mario Allstars / Super Mario World con wasn't enough (releasing three of the games from that Super Nintendo cartridge as separate

Oh, I know it's not forcing me to buy them, but don't you think it reeks of greed? They stretch it out to make the maximum cash possible with the least effort? I'm sure a single compilation cartridge, priced at

I think they're a buissiness, and if anything, they need to learn more about money-making.

If anyone wants those games in partable, well they're there.
Otherwise, it has no effect on you whtsoever.
And you gotta remember that most of their earnings will go into future research or staffing or whatever.
