New Mario Kart 7 Connectivity Details, Iwata Asks [news]

So you can race 7 other ghosts in a race? That's pretty cool. I like the rules idea, but shame it sounds like it's only for friend groups.

I hope the battle mode has been fixed and turned back to the original SMK/MK64 one; not this team crap.

Well, the group rules and all that stuff seem perfect for some C3 tournaments, don't you think? Btw, I think calling them clans instead of groups would fit better but I guess Nintendo didn't want that.

Yes, that's gonna be great for our groupie tournies! Look forward to it.

Perhaps I spoke too soon on my online complaints, haha. But Mario Kart was also one of the best-connected games for the Wii. Ability to add friends without stupid codes and meeting them outside of the game would be nice.
