why dont they just call it addMii...?

No way! I posted "One friend code to rule them all" on GameTavern.net before I saw this.

Great minds..?

Its still a long code. I have never played game that needed it. My personal experience of online gaming on the wii has been weak. I play a sport title from EA and I think it uses their servers. Loads of bugs when playing against certain countries. No patches to fix them.

The nintendo online store is still poorly laid out. Thats the most confusing part since they have an excellent menu layout when you load the wii. The best of any console (closely followed by sony xmb bar) Yet you presented with a dull lifeless scroll bar menu system.

I hope the 3DS addresses some of these issues as well.

Thank you God! Nintendo finally gets it right! lol

Ahh that's a relief to hear Smilie

Nintendo Network ID: LKR000               PSN: LKR000
3DS: 1246-8696-120                              GT: LKR101

Well that's atleast showing Nintendo is getting it & knows how to improve. Also VERY nice name for the system Irfy, I wonder if they will call it that, very clever. Smilie

It is not wise to speak on subjects you do not know all facts about, nor is it smart to judge a game based on looks alone. PSN: Nintendo_Gamer 3DS: 4296-3029-7422

Wow that name would be absolutely perfect for this. I'm really glad that there is only one code. Also Reggie said that if someone is on the same Wi-Fi network you don't need to enter their codes.

Ah, thats the legimate complaint addressed then.
I really dont see the bother with a number or an ID. Its not like most people would get a "nice" unique ID anyway - this way your number is like your IP address or telephone number, but games themselves can display any nickname you like.

One downside to this is it probably means only one online ID per system, rather then separate address books possible for different users. (which was unlikely, but would have been nice to have)

Still not sure what "single friend code for the system" means...still quite obscure.

Awesome. So is it gonna be like Monster Hunter Tri where you have an ID and can choose whatever name you want?

It means you turn on your system.
Get friend code
Share this code with others to add friends to your friend list
This friend list is used for all online games that come out on the system.
Thats it.

Before it was:
Buy game
Get friend code
share with friends

Buy another game
Get friend code
share with friends

Buy another game
Get friend code
share with friends

Buy another game
Get friend code
share with friends

Buy another game
Get friend code
Fuck this Nintendo Wifi shit

and there was no way to see who was online from a friend list from a dashboard or home menu.

Knew it. Smilie

Wasn't the same thing reported about the Wii initially? That it would just have one FC, but then every game had inidividual FCs anyway...
I'm not going to hold my breath just yet, because this is the kind of thing that PR probably get mixed up all the time.

I hope you're right Jimmy. That would make things so much easier. Now if they can only fix the internet for the Wii. Brawl online was horrible when I played it. Hit or miss, but mostly miss.

Theres videos showing the friend list that can be brought up mid game.
I don't think nintendo ever said one friend code on the wii, it was mostly fan speculation/hope.

Both the US and Euro conferences were very specific that there is only one code used for all games. They even mentioned that they understood how annoying it was for multiple codes.
