as for Wii controls. They're ok for fps, but when it comes to multiplayer...i find a controller (or of course keyboard and mouse) far superior than Wiimote/nunchuck.
No question a mouse and keyboard beats it. But a Wiimote beats an analogue stick for the same reason as a mouse and keyboard beats both; Higher and more precise datarates.
That means you can be worse - you DO have to be more in control of your hands. But also means you can be much better. Its just more upto the players skill and imho that makes it best.
My own skills are pathetic, so dont act like I'm being arrogant here. Its just with a wiimote you can both aim and turn a lot quicker. Thats simply unquestionably true.
The wiimote IR has a native 1024x1024 precision input rather then 256 degreesx256 which is what most analogue sticks do (I think).
Once your used to a Wiimote you should be moving and aiming far better then stick-users.
Its also, of course, a lot easier to be precise with your hand when your aiming to a screen then just your thumb (as the movements are bigger).
Our hands and brain are very fast, and very adaptable, so I basically think they can handle anything you chuck at them and after awhile get used to it. So, within reason, the more control you give the player, the better then can become.
For experiment you could also just try playing a analogue stick based shooter, and then load up Conduit or Metroid Corruption.
Try turning around 180 degree's in both.
It seems to me its at least twice as fast with Wii controls.
Also, guys, this is EUROCOM. Just wiki them and you won't be so excited.
True.
But this is a massive project for them. Its not the cheap cash-in you'd expect.
Whether they got the skills or not to pull it off I dont know, but they do at least seem to be trying.
