Unfortunately it seems like Nintendo are slowly letting the rather awesome service die while they add more hype to Wiiware instead. This means that a lot of great titles will either sneak on while noone notices or never be released at all, like all the N64 games.

As for GB games I remember a point where everyone jumped to the conclusion that it was definitely happening and I felt completely in the dark since I felt like I'd missed some "big confirmation". In the end though it seems that's all it was, jumping to conclusions. I don't see it happening anytime soon.

its just stilly to pass on GB games Smilie more so with them take GB slot out of the DS

There\'s really no point in offering a fully-fledged handheld VC service to only a mere percentage of DS owners; far better to test the waters with new download games and prepare the market for retro stuff for the next main handheld where the whole market can enjoy them.

Plus the reason there is no Gameboy listing for the Wii VC is precisely that; they\'re handheld games, designed for pick-up-and-play. Would you want to see a Gameboy game on your big swanky TV anyways? Smilie

I'm boycotting the DSi until it gets a Virtual Gameboy -- or until its DSiware service gets anything worth while. Until then I see no value in the system (over the Lite).

Yep me too, although I also boycott the DS Lite.
My phat friend still serves me fine, collecting dust most of the time and there when I want to play with it.

I\'d say Mighty Flip Champs, Flipnote Studio, and Rayman are a good bet. Probably not worth the 150 quid but there is some interesting stuff in the pipeline. Smilie

Just get a CycloDS and a Gameboy emulator for it.

You get the games for free, as well. Smilie

I wish my DS Phat didn't break - I prefer it way more than my DS Lite, and the DSi just seems silly to me, like almost a DS Lite 2, if that is possible.

As for VC, I personally love the feature and I hope that Nintendo will realise how great of a thing they really have on their hands. Wii Ware games just seem so, dare I say it, childish (i.e. all the games like a Flash game or something that I could have even thought of).

And even if they don't release GBA on the VC, I've always got my trusty GBA and GBC in the nightstand next to my bed. Smilie

wiiware needs to take a break Smilie

I hope Nintendo do release this because it will be a good way to play some really cool GB games. Such as Kirbys Dreamland and Wario blast as well as the Mario Land games.

They will probably turn them into remakes ala Rayman as being more practical than restricting it to consoles themselves.

The Virtual Console allowed Nintendo to rapidly expand the library of the Wii by appealing to the Hardcore audience.

It was the mechanism to get support from the beer drinking tattoo'd guys who saw the console and thought it sucked (it's the truth).

With the launch of the new 3DS (TBC) the download service will come back into play. As the new handheld is powerful enough to emulate the previous versions it will once again appeal to the old retro gaming hardcore audience who will be buying the device and launch.

The emulation screens will play out like the Super GameBoy (if you remember that) and will apply game art around the widescreen to keep the original aspect ratio.

More details to come in June.

It's just a shame that several of my Virtual Console games won't work through component cables due to Nintendo's ignorance of the issue surrounding 50hz games. Smilie

Good to know ta. Smilie Do ya know if we'll be able to transfer our DSiWare games or Virtual Console games at all by linking accounts? (probably never gonna happen as this is Nintendo we're talking about.)
