...what do you plan on buying? We know it has to just be a matter of time. I was hoping it would be at E3, but I suppose they\'re still working on it. (they have to be right?)

Contrary to my complete disregard for the VC on Wii (haven\'t downloaded a single game) a virtual gameboy excites the heck out of me. The ability to take tons of classics on the go makes me salivate. I am a huge fan of old school 2D gameplay, and the GBA was a master system for it, filled with original greats and ported SNES greats, it was an amazing system. Being able to have tons upon tons of those games on an SD card ready to go anywhere would make me a buy a DSi instantly, and then proceed to plop down plenty more money on those little white cards Nintendo insists we buy. In fact, I\'m boycotting the DSi until Nintendo gets this service up.

So what would you buy? Does a virtual gameboy even interest you?

I know what I want:

The Metroids: I missed a lot on the GBA, perhaps most importantly the handheld Metroids. I know Superlink adores them and thats good enough for me. I need to play them.

Minish Cap: People rave about it. I need to play it.

The Advance Wars games: I own both the DS games but never owned the GBA ones. I\'ll remedy that given the chance.

Final Fantasy 6: Square better do a nice lavish remake as they have for 3 and 4, but either way I will have it. Perhaps my favorite game ever, but I have not played it in almost a decade. I must experience this one again.

Super Mario World: Sure, I\'ve played this one 6 million times and frequently dream about it and already have it on GBA and SNES, but its good good good. My favorite 2D platformer.

These are just the ones that pop into my head. Don\'t know why its taking Nintendo so long to make this happen, because if they did it, they\'d literally own my wallet.

Why are people so against using emus I wonder...Smilie

But if they actually do, it would be AWESOME if they released ones compatible with VC games, like Pokemon Stadium with RBY. Or perhaps Online Linkage? They sound a bit complicated at first but it could work!

It requires great courage to look at oneself honestly, and forge one's own path.

There are some amazing GBA games I'd love to see on VC. I recently bough myself a Gameboy micro so I could easily carry some of them round with me but sticking them on an SD card in my DSlite would be so much better!

I'd love to see...

Metal Slug,
Super Mario World,
Super Streetfighter Turbo Revival,
Alien Hominid,
Mario Vs Donkey Kong,
Streetfighter Alpha 3,
Doom,
Astro Boy &
Duke Nukem Advance, among many more.

When the virtual gameboy is released they will put 1 game available for download each week so you'd have to wait at least another couple of years before you could get all the ones you want, IF they release them all.

You're better off with an emulator and a good controller in other words.

Emulators are illegal. I\'d rather do gaming properly or not at all, even if these are just ROMs too, they\'re official releases recorded by the distributor.

That\'s my reasoning for anti-emulation in a nutshell. I only emulate games I already own legally. If they\'re not available for download then I will eventually find one second hand.

Personally I\'m boycotting the DSi until some awesome (and worth it) exclusives are revealed. As far as I\'m concerned there\'s not much VGB that could entice me, other than Metroid II and Wario Land 1-3.

I'd want:

-WarioLand 3
-Metroid II
-Zelda: Link's Awakening

That's all I can think of atm. Smilie

I still have an impressive list of GBA games at my disposal, furthermore i took advantage of the GBA when it was in its prime getting tons of games for it. Alas i did get rid of a few that i wouldnt mind having back, such as

Golden Sun 1 and 2
Kuru Kuru Kurin (great game!)
Sonic Advance 1
Tony Hawks Pro skater 3...or 4 one of them was amazing!
Pokemon Emerald

You know what, I can stomach not feeding more money into the Nintendo failtrain. It's not like you're supporting the original developers.

Emulating is the only option though if you want to play stuff like Earthbound, Mother 3, Shin Megami Tensei etc...

On topic, I already own most of the GBA games I'd like to play...the only ones that spring to mind are the GBA Kirby, F-Zero and Fire Emblem games.

Oshit, I completely forgot about the GBA Kirbys. Yeah I\'d like those too, they\'re bloody hard to find, and Tactics Advance if I can\'t find that.

And yeah if a game is impossible to get I will either wait or cave in and emulate due to the impossible-ness (like I did with SEGASonic The Hedgehog, which wouldn\'t have been worth the wait)

Nintendo\'s failtrain is top speed in Europe atm too, with the Nintendo Points being that price. It\'s really making me think every purchase through multiple times. =_=

And on the Ecksbawks I have many points to spare!

lol that comment reminded me that i wouldnt mind playing Ecks V-S Sever again.

they should have a card so you can store pictures and draw funny things on them like on the Wii

Pokemon might be tricky, its big, save-intensive, and later ones used internal clocks.
A direct rom emulation might not work, would require some tweaks.

Still, I'm sure all the big ones will be catered for.

Links Awankening and Tetris DX will do me nicely. But knowing Nintendo they're probably going to overprice the shit out of them.

Pokemon Trading Card Game. Been trying to get that again for years; that one showing up would probably entice me on a DSi (no joke).
Otherwise, I'd like to see the Golden Sun games, if only to help the third game's sales (it has been a while after all), and the Wario Land games since I've only played Land 3.
