I voted GTA: San Andreas. The scale and variety of the landscape is amazing. I\'m still hoping for a San Andreas Stories for Wii. Would be cool to fly a plane with the Wii Remote WiiSports style. Smilie

What a boring year for games.

Agreed.

I think Half-Life 2 would be the rightful winner, but I haven't played enough of it to generate a proper opinion on it yet, so I'll hold off voting for now.

Otherwise I'd choose Pikmin 2.

I almost see where you\'re coming from, but objectively, there are some massive-name games there. You\'d imagine Half-Life would walk it, but devotees of WoW or GTA or even GT are going to have a very hard time. Pikmin\'s fantastic. Paper Mario is supposed to be a treat.

In their respective fields, all of those games are absolute top-shelf.

Loved Half Life 2, Paper Mario and Pikmin 2. Paper Mario wins it for me though. ^_^

This was a tough one, since there's nothing there that really strikes me as anything special.

I had to vote for Paper Mario & The Thousand Year Door. It was an enjoyable game, but it was just the last parts that I just gave up on because you couldn't even move, with enemies hitting you right, left and centre.

What? Half-life 2 is not even second? Are you guys kidding me? And 2004 was an awesome year.

San Andreas.

Half-Life 2 for me. It's the best shooter I've ever played. I like the characters and the way the story unfolds. It's just so good. I can't wait to play the next game.

Alien Hominid is close second. It's so underrated, but it was just plain fun. Running around as alien killing off the FBI, KGB, and whatever is at Area 51. And they really varied the gameplay. How awesome is riding the back of giant yeti and smashing Soviets! And the humor was great.

I'd like Pikmin and Paper Mario, but I got tired of them after a while. I had to put Paper Mario down and come back to it weeks later. And I never finished Pikmin 2.
