Jack Thomson attacks Rockstar boss via his Mother

Jack Thompson, the anti-GTA/Manhunt lawyer, has fumed at the production of the \"murder simulator\" GTA IV in a letter sent to the MUM of Rockstar boss Strauss Zelnick.

Thompson suggested that she should be \"ashamed of herself\" in a letter sent to her.

\"The pornography and violence that your son traffics in is the kind of stuff that most mothers would be ashamed to see their son putting into the hands of other mothers\' children,\" he ranted.

\"Maybe you, Mrs Zelnick, were so taken by your handsome son that you spared the rod and spoiled the child. That would explain why he has brought you, by the way he presently acts, to shame.\"

He goes on to claim that experts hold GTA and Strauss\' \"entrepreneurial energy\", in part, responsible for a \"plethora of cop killings\".

It gets better lol: \"Your son, this very moment, is doing everything he possibly can to sell as many copies of GTA IV to teenage boys. If you trained up Strauss to do this, then shame on you\" he said.

\"if this iteration is anything like its predecessors, it will feature incredible interactive violence aimed at police officers, whom you can shoot in the head and see the blood spray out. Innocent bystanders whom you can run over with your car just for the heck of it.\"

Then he tries tugging on the heart strings \"Happy Mothers\' Day, Mrs Zelnick, which this year is May 11, two weeks after your son unleashes porn and violence upon other mothers\' boys. I\'m sure you\'re very proud.\"

What a pathetic excuse for a man. Seriously, I've never liked the GTA games, but Jack Thompson is just pitiable.

Wouldn't it be great if some crazed and demented GTA fan head-shots him out of this world one day. I think it would be very fitting.

I think it would be more fitting if he was killed ironically.

For example by falling into a pitfall that one of his friendly neighbors had buried outside his front door as a joke.

EDIT: He hasn\'t tried to ban Animal Crossing yet has he? Just making sure.

I don\'t like how controversial Rockstar\'s games are, but I\'m starting to think that may only be because of how morons like him react to them...Christ...that is UNBELIEVABLE. And how exactly does this kind of thing even support his cause?

Pornographic? I know the GTA games are rather risque at times, but they\'re still 18 rated. If it actually contained pornographic material, wouldn\'t most formats refuse to liscense it?

Was just reading some stuff about Thompson, and I saw this, I think it's hilarious.

Thompson was critical of the judge's decision, telling the judge "You did not see the game... You don't even know what it was you saw," as well as accusing the Take-Two employee who demonstrated the game of avoiding the most violent parts. Blank Rome subsequently filed a motion to have Thompson's behavior declared "contempt for the court". Judge Friedman then recused himself from ruling, and instead filed a complaint against Thompson with the Florida Bar, calling Thompson's behavior "inappropriate by a member of the bar, unprofessional and contemptible".

GamePolitics.com has absolutely been awash with Jack Thompson and GTA IV news recently. Now that the two have come together it\'s virtually been nothing but articles about whacko Jacko screaming at ads on the sides of buses.

Unfortunately the final ruling on his disbarring has been pushed back to an August deadline I think. But just reading some of the court documents it sounds as if Judge Tunis has already reached her decision. And it sounds good for gamers everywhere.

If you don\'t read Game Politics, you should. Jack Thompson isn\'t the only one, you should see some of the shit that gets thrown out of court. Absolutely batshit mental some people.

He has to get revenge for some reason. That's as much as I know as of now. But reviews state that Niko really is a lot more likeable than any other GTA protagonist.
