Yeah I got it here in Derby. Scared me because I was in the kitchen and it was all dark ^^;
There was an earthquake? I thought I felt something but wasn't sure. Although, it may explain why a book, whcih had been sitting perfectly happily in the just-before-falling stage for a few days now finally fell over
I felt it in North Wales too.
I didn't feel it but my mate did just about 3 miles away in Oxford, Theo must've felt it.
Nope nothing here in the LDN region. Did anyone get under a table or between a doorway?

Yeah I shat myself, the entire room was shaking. I thought it was a gohst.
Hmmmm.... and ther's not even a plate boundary close to the UK......
South Wales, didn't feel anything. Sheep Wool is a great shock absorber.
yeah i had it here around leeds /york i was like WTF that feel so odd and then all cars start going off lol every one on my street got up
( Edited 27.02.2008 06:53 by Jump_button )Woke me up, like someone was shaking me. Had no clue what it was, was mildly annoyed that I\'d woken up only an hour after getting to sleep. Mum just told me there was an Earthquake. I\'m pretty chuffed that I felt it, I\'ve slept through any previous ones. So this was my first earthquake.
Epicenter was east Yorkshire...it\'s crazy how powerful they are. :p
I\'m in Nottingham...but I hear it affected 6 countries!
So, any Geography buffs want to explain how there was an earth quake in Yorkshire when England isn\'t on any plate boundaries...?
Clearly, the answer is ALIENS.
Mid Wales. Nothing. I concur with RyanT's theory as to why we didn't feel anything.
Heh, South East, Cornwall. I didn't feel anything. Maybe I was just fast asleep... but I doubt it. I don't remember anything like that.
Haha suckers, aint' been no earthquake where i live in a LONG time! kidding, but ive never actually been in an earthquake, is it scary?
I'm only about 50 miles away from it and I slept right through it.
I live in Gainsborough, apparently one of the worst hit places! not very far from Market Rasen at all, about 20 miles away!
I was awake when it happened and I\'ve never been so scared in my life, but at the same time it was so awesome! I thought my house was gonna fall down and everything in my room was shaking like hell and stuff was falling off shelves!
( Edited 27.02.2008 13:35 by Marzy )We got it here in the North West but I slept through it.
My bed shock loads, thought I was being haunted!

Not quite aliens
To put it simply, plates are made up of all sorts of minerals, some harder then others. Even if we're not on a boundary, tension can still develop and faults can occur due to the various rock compositions in the crust. They just don't tend to be very strong

Well, thanks...but aliens would have been SOOO much cooler.
I felt it up in Liverpool, playing Excite Truck at the time. I thought the vibration was a bit powerful ^^;
It's been really windy as well, and I thought it was the wind shaking my brick house. Then I realised how stupid that was.
Felt it here where I live too (down in Norfolk). One of my mates sent me a text asking if I felt it here and one of his mates in Sheffield felt it too so it must\'ve been pretty widespread.
( Edited 27.02.2008 16:21 by Sylpharion )Supposedly we got it in Blackpool, but I slept right through it.

The Lego King has been absent from the forums for some time. My bet is he\'s been abducted by aliens and is now covering up a government conspiracy.
Edit: I\'m also gutted that people in Norfolk, London and Wales got woken up by it, but I slept through, despite being much closer. :-S
( Edited 27.02.2008 16:36 by Smells like cheese )i rember it, it was just as i cracked the fourth case on Phoenix wright ace attourney. my whole room shook, it felt liek somebody really fat was walking round next door even though they have moved out.
