Odd, but it's perhaps the best location if you're seeking out GameCube games, and here's why...

Trundling down to the dilapidated tube station around a mile from my house on a brisk Friday afternoon, I wondered why I was seeking some form of entertainment away from the illustrious Cubed3 control centre. My friend, who wished not to be named, accompanied me on a form of day trip

The other thing with that HMV (Trocadero, right?) is that one of the assistants is a huge Cube fan and will give you loads of advice on what to buy, etc. Good bloke!

I liked the article JB although a bit of controversy would have added something I think. Smilie So, who did you go there with? Smilie

Lol. I wish I could have gone with her... hehe.

Cheers for the comments, HMV is really the "top dog" for games, well, perhaps matched by GAME, which has other good qualities. Smilie

I just got word of Jebus sightings in a glass box hanging over the Thames near Tower Bridge.

I know why....... I won't say though! Smilie

DO YOU! So Cute - bit.ly/yIEgXv

Very interesting indeed, how one enjoys getting hopelessly lost in London (the tempo way, walk walk walk and then try to work out where the fuck you are) True the GameCube is quite well supported in shops that aren't EB or GAME, or DIXONS, HMV is all very good, I went to the one in London just before launch, and it was packed with GameCube crap. JB an author, he would just talk about jubblies all the time Smilie Smilie

Trying to think of a witty signature after 'Hacker-gate'...

lol - I had to add a bit where shops exploit games with femine themes just to get a sale, which I disagree with. Smilie

Random but well written article. Well done. Smilie Just shows the Gamecube isn't do that bad, in any where other than where I go

Not really random as such for it's GC related and happened to me recently, something I picked up on is all.

I live in London, Oxford Street is one of the worst places to go because it's always so damned busy. I'm surprised you didn't visit CEX - it's down Rathbone Place (near Virgin, find the Pret A Manger and Benjis - it's the road between them). They're one of the best games stores in London, if just for their huge retro selection.

There's a place in Hammersmith with a big X on it that has the odd second hand gem; Gamestation in Camden is cracking; Games Exchange in Notting Hill is chocka full of great stuff; the Hammersmith game is so-so; the Camden Virgin Megastore has a good selection...

I got Metroid Prime today at HMV for

That also the Players choice price for it.

I didn't know that it was on Player's Choice!

I was going to ask about CEX but faustshausuk beat me to it, CEX is great for games & they Retro section is very hard to beat but they Customer Service can be beat by anyone, they never seem to want to serve me when I am there, the retro section is very bad in the basement, if ignore the customer is a art form, then they will win the Turner Prize.

It good that the Game Cube is so well stock by them, the last time I went in to HMV (well one of them, they have two on Oxford Street), it was the 1st time I have seen a Mac section of games :peace:
I wish the Norwich HMV was like that, but it a bit smaller & a lot less games, or anything (still biger than some others)

Nintendo GAMECUBE sets new technical standards in a compact (6"x6"x4.3"), transportable housing. It features a highly customized, 405 Mhz, copper wire central processor from IBM; a revolutionary graphics co-processor from ATI with Mosys 1-T SRAM memory embedded directly onto the chip; and 40 MB of memory, including one of the largest implementations of static memory in consumer product history. This integrated design creates the fastest and most efficient video game system ever brought to market.[/size]

That HMV sounds really nice... In Dublin, the HMV has a tiny Gamecube section, and 1 pod for each of the consoles. The Gamecube games seem horrendously overpriced though.

There's also two games, one with a small Gamecube presence, and one with a larger one, but no gc pods in either of em. There's a few other game stores, but in general, they're overpriced and have tiny GC game collections.

As an aside, GAME seem to be pushing the Gamecube lots with people wearing t-shirts and lots of posters now. Yay!

Im sorry JBI just couldn't be bothered to read all of that, but from what i did read it was a pretty good write-up, well done young sir! Smilie
