Arcade ROMs and Emulator!

I am looking an Arcade game emulator and 2 games, in specific.

Metal Slug 2 and Aero Fighters 2.

I have downloaded MAME and Aero Fighters 2 before, but I couldn't get MAME to work, and Aero Fighters 2 didn't seem to be a ROM file.

If anybody can help with MAME, and give me a site where I can download these, please tell me!

A common mistake that ppl who run MAME for the first time make is to unzip the rom files. You'll end up with a host of .bin files that are practically useless if you just want to play the game.What you should do instead is place your ZIPPED rom file e.g.
sonicwi2.zip in your roms folder [aero fighters 2 was released as sonic wings 2 in japan] together with the neogeo bios rom.
