Well, they said "may" meaning that it's a possibility, which of course it is, but personally I think 3rd parties have a good chance of getting good sales.

You know what makes a big difference though? GOOD GAMES! You hear that 3rd parties? I know most of you don't know what that is... do some research. Smilie

Well put supes.

Guitar hero 3 should do well, at the very least.

Well, if they stoped releaseing PS2 ports for us >_<

Zack and Wiki better do good mind.
If we dont buy stuff like that we get all we deserve.

If Wii loses support from some developers it's down to those developers creating unnecessary games like Tomb Raider Anniversary Ed that Wii owners don't want.

I think it will be great that many developers will fall by the wayside, because many developing for Wii are producing crap. We don't want crappy games as seen in the current glut, we want developers who are willing to put in adequate resources into producing good games. We want fully fledged ground up Wii games that attempt to innovate and are fun and original.

You get what you put in, it's very simple, produce great games and they will sell well, that's what I think. Such developers who are willing to do so will be very successful with the current user base in place.

OH ME GOD... I was just about to say the same thing...
If you make shitty games like Petz and crap like Activision makes... then obviously they are not gonna sell!

I see all these people insulting the Nintendo corporation because of the lack of mature content. Yet there is something about Nintendo (at least their games) that strikes a certain unadulterated feeling of joy!!!  Pokemon Y - 1048-9263-5562

Star for Super Link. That's exactly what's it about. You see, the reason people almost buy Nintendo games blindly is their reputation. And that doesn't build over night. If EIDOS got shitty Wii-sales, it may be their fault, not ours. We Wiis have a 14 Million user base. Now give us some games. We want unique, good looking games. All that is possible with Wii.
why buy a port which got stripped of everything, graphics, online mode, and this and that, and then being sold full price? No way, Eidos, Activision, Ubisoft...

I find your lack of faith disturbing!

If Eidos continues to bring over crap from Japan like Escape from Bug Island, then fair enough it deserves terrible sales. However, from all reports Tomb Raider Anniversary makes good use of the Wii's controls and extra graphical power...Launching in the Christmas period should give it a good shot at success.

I don't see 3rd Parties struggling this Christmas on Wii. You only have to see how well EA has done and how well even Take Two is currently doing with Carnival.

Who the hell cares what Eidos thinks because right now I've fallen head over heels in love with Capcom's Zack & Wiki. There is even a puzzle that takes you out of the point and click aspect. You have to turn the remote sideways for this robot whom's controls are move with the D-Pad, dash with 1 button, and pickup objects that are to heavy for Zack with the 2 button.Smilie
I have finally gotten the hang of the game, but what sucks is they keep count of how many times you die and I didn't realize that until my 10th death.Smilie

I don't understand why 3rd part devs put out crap especially ported crap and look in disbelief when I and everyone else in the gaming community refuse to waste

Smilie well i was going to get Tomb Raider any way and jack and wiki res evil UC rayman RR 2 NiGHTS

Oh fuck them...no ones going to choose a god damn Tomb Raider waggle port over Galaxy, Guitar Hero 3, Zack and Wiki, Metroid and Rayman Raving Rabbids 2. Give us a decent game and we will buy it!

Plus I doubt anyone of us is going to be crying if we lose their support so again, fuck them.

Damnit, don't these bone headed companies get it yet?! Gamers are picking up their titles because they keep sticking Wii with half-assed ports (usually from last gen titles to boot) or cheap spin-offs. How about investing in quality titles that make intelligent, intuitive and just plain fun use of Wii's capabilities? All of them. Smilie

Companies like Eidos have no one to blame but themselves, but I tell you, I'm 'gonna be uber pissed if they cause Wii to struggle and lose support because of their own stupidity. Boy, you wanna talk about a self-fulfilling prophecy. Smilie

Bastards, I'm so sick of this. They did this exact same thing with GameCube. Smilie

Chance favors the prepared mind.

Fuck sake. All they have to do is make 1 good game. 1 or two really good ground-up games for Wii; or at least with some good effort.

I agree with most of the comment made in this thread. It's a shame as Eidos have some good games, like the Hitman franchise. It would be great if they could develop a brand new Hitman on the Wii.

Although its obvious there just gonna get the next PS2 version and port it over instead. Smilie

I think what the chap is getting at, is that Wii owners, by and large, do not buy lots of games. Lots of Wiis have been bought, but comparatively very few games (the old 'attach-rate' thing). Of the Wii games that are bought, most of the heavy-hitters are Nintendo's own, not leaving a lot of room for third parties. In comparison, 360 and PS3 owners generally buy a great deal more games per console than their Wii counterparts, and those platforms are much more third-party-friendly than Wii.

I think that's what he's touching on.

Yes, that's exactly it, but the reason is because 3rd parties are investing in quality titles for PS3 & 360 stuffing Wii with half-assed, low budget ports and spin offs. Most of them ports of last gen PS2 titles. Then they have the nerve and audacity to complain that their crap games don't sell and threaten to pull support because gamers don't want their sh*t. Meanwhile, Nintendo is investing in quality titles and they sell like hotcakes, it is their system after all.

The frustrating thing is, Wii really is an amazing system and brings an unprecedented array of fun possibilities to the table, but 3rd parties are undermining it by sticking it with a disgusting amount of sh*t ports and spin offs. So far, only a few 3rd party companies have made decent endeavors on Wii, but even then, only a small handful of their titles have been quality titles.

Chance favors the prepared mind.

There is something like 80 or so games being released in the U.S these next couple of months for Wii lol. The output on Wii dwarfs that of the 360s, of course the vast majority is crap by crap developers, the sooner they fail with their titles the better for all Wii owners I think. I do hope that long established developers like Eidos stay though, and that if there are small developers keen to to develop for Wii, let it be on Wii Ware where Nintendo have a role in quality control.

I do think we will see a welcome shift in the overall quality of Wii games in this coming year. The test games are done for the most part, and there are fewer PS2 ports to squeeze out. There are likely many 3rd party products due out next year that we had no idea about, those are the titles I am looking forward to seeing just as much as the titles like AC and Smash that we know will be class.

Well all the half decent games actually sell well...RE4, Red Steel (well at least they put some effort into that game), Guitar Hero...

Avoid Games Like the Plague, productivity++

I simply cannot see the Wii doing badly this christmas.

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

Your having a Smilie.

GH3 looks good but I am not sure whether to get it on the 360 or the Wii, or alternatively wait on RockBand which has music that appeals to be a whole lot more. I am in limbo, but thankfully I don't intend on buying it till next year so that gives me some time to make my mind up.

Guitar Hero 3 Wii apparantly has the best version of the guitar, the online isn't brilliant but good enough, and future downloads aren't an impossibility.
Plus its a tenner cheaper. Hope that helps.Smilie

I think that it is quite possible for the Wii to loose support, and i can definately see the arguments for this. On the other hand if the Wii's triple A titles do well and developers start to use the Wii's full potential it just might be able to hold out, and i hope it does.
