Seems to be Next Gen reporting on an article from EDGE magazine...sounds impressive. I wonder if Nintendo will do a 'WiiWare' style service for the homebrew scene as well?
Mwahahaa! Good news. Still, I hope the prices are reasonable, & I can only think of 3 or 4 games I actually want...
Not to mention I hate playing GB games on my DS
Molemania, Link's Awakening, Super Mario Land, Wario Land, Kirby's Dream Land, Metroid II, Mystic Quest...lots of gems!
Well, I'll be getting Metroid II, Wario Land, Wario Land II, Wario Land 3, Kirby's Dream Land 2... and something else. Maybe. Oh yeah, Super Mario Bros DX.
Shame that there will be lack of Multiplayer (most likely) espeically for games like Pok

Aye it's great, I myself had those games in mind
Ahh SML, those were the dayz. I remember causing a fight in the playgound over that game . You know that bit where there is a invisible walk way?, well I told this guy he had to shout into the speaker (lol) "walk of faith" before jumping onto the invisible platform lol. Everyone started laughing at him once I told him I was joking and he threw punches at one guy that was taking the piss out of him
.
in our school people got in fights about who would win out of Mewtwo & Mew.
& for some reason, Tackle was seen to be amazingly powerful.
Already both both SML, so I won't be needing them ^^
EDIT: Anyone know release date?

if it did advance as well...dreamland, hopefully it connects to ur pc so u can just use roms. and can hold like 50 games...
That's pretty interesting. Looks like Nintendo are trying to get more control over piracy at the moment, first they force a close down of my favourite DS ROM site and now this.
hopefully it connects to ur pc so u can just use roms. and can hold like 50 games...Yeah right, dream on boy. This is exactly what Nintendo is trying to prevent, they're not going to help you with your crimes.
Will be rather interesting if they extend this to GBA games in the future, there is a fair ammount more games on that list than the GB.
So its official now? Awesome!
They can get bent if they think they're going to charge VC prices.
You fail to point out that it's a rumour.
Donkey Kong '94 FTW.
Of course, I own the actual cartridge (bought it to play on the GBA), so it would probably be legally defensible for me to play its image in one of the NDS Gameboy emulators that already exists.
But I would gladly pay again for it, especially if Nintendo's emulator has decent Super Game Boy emulation.
Tellyn, it certainly doesn't say it's a rumour if you read the Next Gen article...

The rumour spawns from Edge, as does the Animal Crossing MMO rumour. It hasn't been officially confirmed yet, even though it's likely.
Okay, thanks for clarifying then. I'll stick a question mark on the end of the title
Yeah, doesn't sound like confirmation for me, would make sense though.

Donkey Kong 94 FTW.
Does anyone think this could be made to work with the Wii as some sort of GB player? I could see that happening.

Cheers. Good news nonetheless.
This is for real, no rumour here. I like the idea of bringing Wii Ware type games to it, that would be fantastic. Far cheaper than Wii Ware production and therefore great to get a footing in the industry.

raindog469 said:No, as in downloading the DS VC game to play on the Wii via their connectivity.
The actual cartridge? I really doubt it, which is why I still have my Gamecube and its Game Boy Player.
& speaking of which, I know this is a fairly old idea (it's still awesome) but what does everyone think of playing VC games on DS? Simple, using the Wii-DS connectivity, & the DS' download play, you should be able to upload & play various VC games (from NES, SNES, MD, PCEngine, & maybe Neo Geo) on your DS. I'm not very good with technical stuff, & it sounds like it'd be too cool to be true, but is it possible? & is it likely as DS/Wii connectivity it done more?
I think it's only a matter of time before they do that, since Nintendo hasn't really pursued the retro strategy with the DS yet. But I don't know if they would let you buy the game once and play it on either system.
As for the systems, the DS should be able to emulate the SNES and Genesis, and therefore probably the PCE as well. (Even the GBA could emulate the NES pretty well.) The Neo Geo is a little iffier, more because of huge sizes (DS cards can only be 128MB, though obviously the homebrew scene has found ways around that) than processing power.
If they don't do that, I would think it's for economic reasons rather than technical ones. Homebrewers have already made programs that download and run other programs, so there's no reason one of those programs couldn't be an emulator. Except that Nintendo would rather we bought our games twice, of course.
