We sure this isn't Street Fighter 2: 100? o.0;

EDIT: When it says "Next Gen", I think it just means 360 & PS3, I just don't see this coming to Wii.

IGN think it is, but I don't. Smilie

Back in the SNES days, i bought all the Street Fighter games. I thought they were great. Their have been so many itterations since though that it's all getting a bit too much. This game will have to be something special to attract my attention again.

Give me a DS or Wii version, and I'll tick off another wanted game from your list, Capcom.Smilie

You still have Viewtiful Joe 3 and Okami Wii to announce thoughSmilie

O...
M...
F...
G!!!!!

I had an orgasm whilst watching that!! Yes!! I've been asking for a Street Fighter IV (there's a space between the two words, LS you heretic) for years! I even asked them recently in an email if they had any plans, and they said they had none. Lying cunts.

What I'm wondering is- is that just a promotional FMV, or are those the actual game graphics? Because, although previously I would have been dead against SFIV being in 3D (the other 3D SF games sucked), that looked sweet! Probably the best example of 3D graphics retaining the character of 2D drawings yet. Wow. Just for 360/PS3, eh? Not surprising really, if those are the visuals. Wii can't do that.

Now all I need is Shenmue III.

It's impossibly hard to tell if that's an FMV or in game, I guess we'll find out eventually. If it's in game, then I agree, it's the best possible way to take Street Fighters high quality 2D style into 3D, considering Street Fighter HD is the pinnacle of what Street Fighter can look like in 2D, I don't see any other step forward.

Still though, if it's 2D, or has a Viewtiful Joe style, I can see it being released as an XBLA, or a WiiWare game.

If it's a full console game, 360 & PS3 sounds disappointing for Wii fans, but also most likely. A DS version in 2D could be great, seeing as Street Fighter worked well on GBA, I don't see why a DS game can't be even better.

& I'm sure there will have to be a WiiWare/Wii game of some sort eventually. Street Fighter II has been released on VC after all, the only problem is Wii's controller, but I guess it could be a Classic Controller only game.

That trailer is no indication of the games graphics Oni, it's just some flashy animation. I doubt very much it will be a 3D game, most on the Capcomunnity seem to think so also. Even if it is 3D itcould still be made for Wii. 2D is the tried and tested formula with these games I don't think they will divert from that just in order for it to look new which it does not need to do.

It's also coming out on the Wii, I am sure it is, I put that in my original post but removed it because I was unsure despite reading it was initially, but everything I have read on reputable sites have their reporters in London saying the same "all next gen formats". With that being the case it is almost definitely a 2D game and thankfully so.

(typo was only in the title not on the post, but now sorted)

How do you know it's coming out on Wii? Source?

When they made the announcement they said "all next gen platforms", that includes Wii, that caused PS3 people on Capcomunnity to start creating threads of disillusionment on the Capcom boards Smilie.

IGN would not have put it up as a Wii game if that was not the case. You have to understand that at these events reporters have to sign disclosures on some info and are not allowed to reveal certain details, the fact the SF4 is on the Wii page without any article at all is a way of making a disclosure without incriminating yourself for breaking terms. Street Fighter/Capcom and Nintendo have a long History and with both with the popularity of the series and the Wii in japan it would be crazy not to have the game on Wii also. The above is a glossy animation trailer and no indication of the games graphics at all, they had something similar for III!, but even if it is a 3D fighter in the mould of the Akira ones they made it will still I think come to Wii because of the huge financial incentives to do so.

This game has been confirmed as a project in development at Capcom, but official platform plans have not yet been confirmed -- plans may include an arcade release as well as release on next-generation gaming platforms. Street Fighter IV may or may not be released on this specific system. Please check back for a status update on this title.
Since when are IGN Omnipotent gods of gaming?

& could you link to a source that says it'll be available on all Next-Gen Consoles? Not to mention it depends how you define Next-Gen, & Wii is not always considered Next-Gen.

It'd be nice, & I hope it's on Wii myself, but no way is this confirmation of a Wii version, I'll only end up disappointed.

"but official platform plans have not yet been confirmed"

But "official" details have not been confirmed. We will all just have to wait and see. Wii is the most sucessful platform worldwide it would make sense with such a game to follow the money, and the money is all on Wii right now. Capcom take care of their own above all others first and foremost, they are a japanese company, japanese gamers have had a strong love for the series for years, one they cultured on a Nintendo platform. I think they will honour that myself.

The article was on GamesRadar but they removed the article in question it would seem, which inclines me even more so to think it was true. Read here-

http://digg.com/gaming_news/Street_Fighter_4_announced

"This article has been removed".

"GamesRadar apologizes for any inconvenience. Why not click around and read some of our other gaming-related stories? We've got girls, guns, gore, and at least one story about dudes with pizzas for heads. Check it out!"

The initial article stated so very clearly it would come to all next gen formats.

Cant bleedin' wait, I am buying a PS3 now. Pity I'll have to use either a PS3 or 360 pad, they're crap for Street Fighter games, would love to use the Classic Controller though.

You might get that wish if you wish Smilie, but yeah I know what you mean, I use a Hori Arcade sticks for the PS2 game. The joypad is pants in comparison..

From the developers of Final Fight Streetwise!

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

I wonder why it was removed? Smilie

Seriously though, I think a Wii version would be too good to be true.

#1 Controls wouldn't work too well (except with Classic Controller)
#2 Poar Grafix
#3 Not the game's target audience
#4 Capcom don't love Nintendo like they should, they give Nintendo spin offs of their other big games, or ports of old ones. (like every developer this gen)

Awsome video... i use to be a huge fan of SF in the SNES days... the last SF game i played was Capcom vs SNK... if that counts!

I see all these people insulting the Nintendo corporation because of the lack of mature content. Yet there is something about Nintendo (at least their games) that strikes a certain unadulterated feeling of joy!!!  Pokemon Y - 1048-9263-5562

Nah that don't count. The last actual Street Fighter game was Street Fighter III: Third Strike.
