I already addressed that in games you are more active.

However, just because you are more active in one, dose not make it that videogames are not in fantasy. Just because you could interact with a movie, would that stop making a movie fantasy?

P.S. You would also think that with the "Graphics" being more intense and detailed in the second vid that it would be more imersive. Smilie

Yup, done by the italian directors of the norm. Back in the 70/80s. Before that, there was WWII and Rapes....we have been violent like this since our speicies emerged.

So if it reflects in our movies, I do not see what the problem is with our games reflecting it provided that its rated appropriatly and that some dumb yuppy Mom dose not buy it for the kid. Smilie

Here here, I totally agree with that. Personally, I don't like mutalation of the human form, but I still agree and I just don't see a problem with that contetnt in videogames, especially when it looks faker than in even old horror movies with such content.

One of them's been on the news, and is therefore 'bad'.

Actually, wasn't there a lot of controvesry when movies started becoming violent? Regardless, it will pass in time. Remember how the 2D mortal combats were deemed too violent?

that video is disgusting....

I see all these people insulting the Nintendo corporation because of the lack of mature content. Yet there is something about Nintendo (at least their games) that strikes a certain unadulterated feeling of joy!!!  Pokemon Y - 1048-9263-5562

Surely we should lock up people who act in violent movies then? The people who write them should just be shot

Still a proud member of the 'omfg amazing water in games' society

I am all for this game coming to the Wii, i do not consider the title to violent, it is merely a slighty warped perception, of a reality that is far worse for some.

This is fantastic news for the Wii and it's long run marketing, in Nov 06 reggie F-A stated that we would likely see titles in the GTA mould, and that he would be meeting reps from Rockstar later that day, thankfully GTA is unlikely, but we have this now to help decimate the perceptions that Sony and Microsoft have actively been trying to impose on Nintendo as a company for years.

With this game and the furore it will cause in the media here, the Wii can look foward to a brutally blood soaked future Smilie

* There is no excuse for minors getting this game, if you are a parent start using that lock now, most youngsters do find a way despite all the hurdles put in front of them, no good console should be without this sort of adult content, but at the same time young kids playing such a game of this type can have terrible ramifications as we all know, but Nintendo will do their part, and that's all they should be expected to do. *Sigh*.. Its not my view, thats just the counter argument. But if you want me to take the position of devils advocate:a) Writing about violence is not an accurate simulation of violence, and thus does not involve the same processes, and is not comparable.b) Acting is following a script- actors arent acting a fight because they wish to fight without consequences, theyre doing it because thats just what they are supposed to be doing. Either way, its not strictly comparable. That said, I dont believe in censorship at all, so my response to this would be that its all a load of twaddle.

1) Tell that to Mishima, Hitler, and who ever wrote that War Guide in Dutaronomy.

2) This is the same with both the movie viewer and the game player. A gamer dose not want to shoot a Locus character in Gears of War because they wish to just fight, they do it because it in the game world it must be done. Its calle roll playing. Problem is, there are people who confuse the line of role playing with reality and those are the people who should be locked up.

I will now crown thee noob. Smilie
