Most of you probably know about the recent fun over at PA, but like any good internet samaritan, I felt the immediate need to rant in a blog
And so I did:

Man I freaking LOVE it when Penny Arcade plunges into verbal warfare.

Here is the original article at Joystiq by Vladimir Cole: http://www.joystiq.com/2006/09/14/an-honest-questi on-wouldnt-you-rather-companies-subsidize-your/
Obviously ridiculous and embarassing. The Wii costs less. The fact that Nintendo are making a profit on a product, while Sony and Microsoft are losing money, is NOT going to make me go "oh wow, it's more expensive, but it makes them lose money so it's practically free!"
Wii is cheaper, and in my opinion looks better. Anyone who makes financial desisions based on subsidies and profits of corperations is stupid. It's not more for your money, it's just less for THEM for your money. Unless you feel stongly positive about spiting Sony and M$, then the cheaper console, the more innovative console, and the inevitably more FUN console is likely the best bet.

Penny Arcade says all this in fewer, more potent, and much more publicly received words.http://www.penny-arcade.com/2006/09/15

Mr.Cole even attempts a rebuttal: http://www.joystiq.com/2006/09/15/penny-arcade-res ponds-to-our-hideous-editorial-misses-the-poi/
Needless to say, it's not much better, and certainly not any more effective, than the original article. Nice try dude.

And good job Penny Arcade! Smilie

Doesn't Mir make great sigs? I am the MOCRI (master of completely random insanity).

I read about this over on Joystiq. Their rebuttle is even stupider than the original article. Even the members at Joystiq think that they should get their heads out of their arses, stop being so ignorant and actually admit that they look so stupid.

Awesome! It's a Goddamn retard rodeo over there. It's fun to think about the author tippity-tappin' this one in while he eats light bulbs in the last car of the circus train.

Those joystiq URLs don't work. Smilie

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

Weird, they worked before.. Well you can access the main article from PA and then the rebuttal once you get there.

The comments on the rebuttal are hilarious.Smilie
Itas burn.

You know what else I realized? You know how in the article it says that Sony and M$ are taking more of a risk with the subsidy? Well really nintendo were the ones taking the risk in the first place, with inferior graphics (compared to the PS3 and 360). But this is the reason why they can afford to sell so cheap while still making a profit, and is in turn the reason why Sony had to lower it's price, therefore forming a subsidy, in order to compete with Nintendo's price.

Gotta love it when PA go for the jugular, and can things gets any worse for Josytiq? First the shit midnight announcement then this?

I just find Joystiq utterly repellent. Full of comments from inbred rednecks, totally sanctimonious and frequently wrong.
