I can't seem to find this out anywhere. So considering it's the dry season (pre-Wii) I thought I'd bring it up.

We've seen some demonstrations where two Wii-motes are used by one player, like for instance in the drumming game at E3. I was wondering how many Wii-motes the system can take at one time, in other words; will we be able to have four player games where each player uses to Wii-motes?

I suppose it doesn't matter that much because the numb chuck has motion sensing devices in it and could easily be used instead of a second Wii-mote in cases such as the drumming game. But I'm sure there are other games that would benefit from having two Wii-motes and its extra buttons.

Gah, why won't September come? Smilie

I'd expect it would be limited to one remote for each multiplayer person, else the Wii might explode, firing your shiney new game disc where the sun don't shine.

There'd be some of us who'd break them in energetic lightsabre duels, even if it isn't a Star Wars game Smilie

If the Wii could handle 2 Wiimotes for each person in a four player game, surely that would mean it could handle 8 players with the normal nunchuk setup?

Ignoring the fact that there are only 4 player indicators on the Wiimote.

Maybe you'd have to buy a controller to controller connecty cable thingy... that was the second one would just be transferring information through the first one...

Yeah, I think there are only 4 receiving thingies on the Wii for the Wii motes. So for 2 wiimote games it'd be 2 plkayer maximum unless online.

I just had a peep on Wikipedia and it says this:

A Bluetooth device playing the role of the "master" can communicate with up to 7 devices playing the role of the "slave".

This seems in line with Sony saying the PS3 can have up to 7 controllers, as it also uses bluetooth.

So a 2 remote game could only have 3 players, unless a 4th player played some other role with a single controller.

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

Seems to make sense. I doubt there will be many multiplayer two remotes games. As the nunchuck and the Wiimote are both motion sensing that will probably be enough for most multiplayer games.

Ah good old masters and slaves. Setting that properly when building computers can always be fun. Smilie

I hope we do get lots of light gun games, it's a n untapped genre due to it requiring optional peripherals. That could all change!

Woo bring a new point blank to the Wii!! I would kill for that. One of the best party games I have ever played. This could be the console for it. Not convinced by the DS version though. Need something to hold like a gun. Smilie

Woooooooo!!!
