Well.....not anymore.
Former president of Sony...tells of how sony wished to create a permanent partnership with Sega and create a new console in the early 90's. Due to the strong bond both companies held during the creation of the Sega CD.

Sega refused the the proposal meaning it never came to fruition.
Who knows what might've happened if they had accepted sony's proposal?? Smilie

Dude yuor totally awesome. And i won't be killing you anytime soon.

Sounds a bit like Sony didn't want to plunge into the home console market alone, although eventually that's obviously what they did.

Smilie ah what a shocker...

I see all these people insulting the Nintendo corporation because of the lack of mature content. Yet there is something about Nintendo (at least their games) that strikes a certain unadulterated feeling of joy!!!  Pokemon Y - 1048-9263-5562

Maybe soon they can work alongside them. Just making games. Smilie Ho-Ho.

Wait that doesn't work, Sony games suck balls.

Yeah, but they can advertise the beejeebies out of a game and make people buy them anyways. That's Sega's problem, no one buys their stuff, and that's a bigger problem than making crap that sells Smilie

Sounds like the Nintendo Sony partnership... Did you know that the Playstation was originally supposed to become a CD drive attachment to the NES? Nintendo scrapped the project and unleashed Sony into the gaming world... Too bad. I'd imagine a Sega/sony partnership would probably be a lot worse.

I wonder if Sony worked on a concept Xbox with MS, but MS pulled?!!!Smilie

Sony eats money I mean its all they want they want whatever makes them dough

Excellent find.

I find it funny that Sony tried to partner with both SEGA and Nintendo, and was ultimately rejected by both. To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if that's why they've been such a force to be reckoned with in the last decade or so - they were shat on from a great height by Nintendo and SEGA rejected them too, forcing them to bite back so viciously to make examples of them, to show them not to mess about with Sony. As a result, they wiped SEGA out of the hardware market and left Nintendo hanging, saved mainly by GBA and DS. They now seem to think they don't have to do anything to sell PS3; they feel their revenge has been completed, perhaps, and so have become complacent. That's a quick theory, anyhow.

Microsoft worked with SEGA for Dreamcast...perhaps that's when they got added to the Sony hitlist...

Sony weren't such a nasty company then. Their electronics were actualy decent (that reputation remins today, despite it being wrong), and they were openly embracing partnerships with other companies in order to learn from them.

In my opinion, up to the PS2, Sony were beneficial to video games, people give them too much stick. Nintendo were much much nastier when they were on top than Sony are now, Sony have gone down the road of being stupid instead.

Sony games suck balls.

They used to, now they make some of the best. Ico and Shadow of the Collosus are some arty little titles that sold badly [initialy].

Arty little games that sell badly are the indicator of a good developer.

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

Yep, it was other companies that were being bad to them, leading to them having a very impressive nasty/determined streak. Sony wasn't the sole one to blame for SEGA's downfall or Nintendo's near failure, but they were a contributing factor. Karma comes back to bite you in the arse, and they learnt that after refusing to co-operate with Sony (in Nintendo's case, they perhaps should've been the ones wiped out if we're going by karma for what they did to Sony about the SNES-CD).

lol, Sony didn't know how to start their own game's company Smilie

First they wanted Nintendo's help, then SEGA's?! Those SLAGS!! Smilie
