Let me start by clarifying that I am a fully fledged member of the grown up world. I have not and, until now, have never had the desire to play a Pokemon game. However, by God this blogger at wiishfulthinking.com has it absolutely right.

Pokemon MMOG anyone?

I should also point out that I've never had any desire to play an MMOG either. But this sounds like a fantastic idea. c'mon Nintendo, you know you want to.

Pretty much exactly what I've been saying I want for years now. I'd like it to look like the anim

I've really wondered why they didn't make a proper GC pokemon RPG. Like red/blue and gold/silver/crystal. They all kicked arse. Recent ones kind of sucked though. I'd die to play a proper GC pokemon game (well, maybe not die, but you catch my drift...I hope..)

Nice article

Yah, MMO Pokemon, rather than rehashed 'sequels' and spin-offs.

Duck Hunt Pokemon edition! Shoot all 60 billion or however many crap new ones there are!

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

Wi-Fi Pokemon would be sweet! Huge tournaments, and a "World Cup" each year or so. Trainer cards to show off to your friends, 100's of gyms (more than 8 anyway), new Pokemon, customisable trainers, player gyms. All of it would be cool. Don't like the idea of the semi-real time battles or throwing pokeballs with the controller, apart from those I agree with everything in that article.

Bottom line is that IF Pokemon does make it to wii in MMo fashion then the rather weak and pathetic battle system muct be replaced with someything so much better,

Such as real-time, as I expected from Pokemon stadium, but was disappointed Smilie

Something like the Mario and Luigi Partners in Time system, where levelling up and soon play a part, but theres all the other stuff you've got to do.

Exactly, I mean surely they could figure something out. It should not slide into a beat em up but not stay as simple as it is.

Would be awesome...

Dude yuor totally awesome. And i won't be killing you anytime soon.

I know, and the attacks should act like they do in the cartoon!! Like freaking screech is actually a good attack but it's useless in the game!

isn't there any way that guy can send his suggestions to ninty?

Of course you'd have the people who spend literally every minute of thier lives on there and they'd become number one easily

But that's the beauty of it, is that Level 100 is the limit for pokemon so even people who are on there all the time can be beaten, but still have an advantage. It would be more about strategy.

Well I suppose that's true... I'm not sure how I feel about changing the battle style... I'm a huge hater of anything turn-based, but part of what makes Pokemon so great is the simplicity. It would probably be awesome to fight with the pokemon in a big arena like they do in the cartoons, actually running about and attacking, but it could end up making the game so slow if they're too big, and that's not exactly good for an online game.

I suppose it could add in a new level of strategy to the game though, using terrain to your advantage and stuff like that... Generally either way could work as long as Nintendo spend enough time on it working out all the problems. I think that's probably the most important thing for most games...

Oh and they better give it back to Game Freak...

I've been out of my Pokemon phases for a seriously long time, partly because I'm no longer an annoying kid but also because the series seemed to be getting to repetitive and quite frankly boring. Red and Blue were just about the best for me, I did attempt Ruby and Sapphire but they weren't as fun in my opinion.

But something like this could get me hooked again. Not to the franchise, but as a one of game it could be brilliant.

Surely Nintendo have thought about everything mentioned in that article, the Wii-specific ideas are especially mouthwatering.
