Some games will have Cube graphics. Animated movie games for example always have "basic" graphics so yeah I bet there will be a few odd ones. But no one's going to buy those anyway
well lets look at it the games that we saw at E3 looked amazing no-one is doubting that, and if they were 'tweaked' GC's they cant really have been that far off. I only think this becuase i was reading in ONM that most developers were using only 20% of the GC's power and most of the games looked pretty good! so i think that they might have been tweaked in there proccessing speed but i just think that the games that were displayed were actually utilising all of the GC's grunt
I think that this news is all good, it just shows that even if the gamecubes were using more advanced chips it was still a gamecube and it just shows what could be done on a cube, apparently wii is gonna be say at least 4 times as powerful as the cube so imagine what developers who actually care about their games could create on that.
Yeah but... It's just Wii hardware inside a GC shell... It's still the right hardware

do you really want better graphics at the cost of loading screens, framerate drops, online lag?
plus it was wii hardware in gamecube casing but those games are nothing but an idication of gameplay, the games arent finished for example red steel doesnt have blood in it yet, lighting effects and touch ups like that are the last things added to a game
i agree with andrego
i agree and wii sports is just a player development program that gets the players used to the wii controller so what they looked shite its a free game that comes with wii so

*Cough*, sorry? Is somone talking out of their arse? YES! YOU!

...or maybe there won't be any blood in Red Steel so that Nintendo's core audience can buy it. Just speculating...
On the other hand, if no blood has been seen so far, we'll have to assume for now that there won't be any in the final game
There is blood in Red Steel, it got misinterpreted. People thought that gore would be omitted from the game, but what's actually happening is no OTT gore is going in. Blood spurts and such will happen, but it won't be painting the walls or floors - this enables the game to get a Teen rating in America without overstepping the marks and going Mature. It was said recently by Ubisoft, I'll try and dig it up once I get home this afternoon.
EDIT: It's just not been put in yet as of E3, because they only had two weeks to port the existing code from the beefed up Gamecube dev. kits to the Wii dev. kits before E3.

I think Wii sports looks pretty good... O.k it looks a bit plain, but that's just the style of the game. It still looks hella smooth and personally I kinda like it
WTF!! Wii Sports wasnt designed to be a good graphic game it was only designed to use the full potential of the Wii-mote!! Its like saying Tetris or Pac-Man have shit graphics?!?!?!?!
wii sports is just a player development program that gets the players used to the wii controller so what they looked shite its a free game that comes with wii so
You're actually just making stuff up, because WIi sports is not confirmed to be free.
Well RE4 sold well enough despite being gory.
That's because nintendo's core audience, the kiddies, don't like the idea of creepy, scary zombies. And besides, RE is already a recognized series, so fans return to buy it. nobody is going to get a gory game for their kid if they'd never even heard of it.
Why would somebody get a gory game for their kid if they HAD heard of it?
MasterStyl said:I'm sorry but.. That whole thing just generally doesn't make any sense... You're saying that RE4 sold incredibly well on the Gamecube because Nintendo's core audience hates it? Well that makes sense... >_>Well RE4 sold well enough despite being gory.Thats because nintendos core audience, the kiddies, dont like the idea of creepy, scary zombies.
Oh, wow. You're talking about top-news that is none...
1. Wii is more or less comaptible to the Cube-hardware. That means it has double the RAM, similar but not same processor.
2. why making the hardware final when they have time to tweak it up, search for hardware-bugs, check for implementing better and cheaper stuff like graphic or whatever (okay, changing a processor at the last second is very evil).
3. why putting Wii there when the mass-production hasn't even started? Why giving away a awful heck lot of money only to create casings for Wii-hardware that is not final. That means: The hardware is not fully high-integrated yet. It is bigger than the final version. So casings had to be bigger. Great, now the take 50 Cube-cases which lie around in great numbers at the hardware-labs at Ninty and put the chips, boards and stuff in these casings.
4. You see: Much ado about nothing
Graphics: Don't care about graphics. Gameplay is important. So stop playing DS games, because they have... how did you guys put it... shitty graphics!

And thus, a truce was made, a pact, that Grumbler would continue rocking out on the forums in his peculilar way if Frazzle.d was entitled to having the '.d retarded thing' first and swaying the majority of forum opinion with a hearty mix of threats, verbal, physical and emotional abuse, not to mention a promise of sweeties.
