Argh, after reading a little about it I realised that I want this, it's a shame it was a PS2 exclusive. I know there were rumours of a 360 + Revo release, but they seem to have bit the dust...

One thing that puts me off about this game is the Create-A-Warrior mode, it really just doesn't suit the style of an arcade fighter IMO... but the people who have the game say it's a pretty cool mode, but I say "meh"

A thing that I really like the look of in this game, it the absolutely massdive selection of characters... well maybe it's not THAT massive, but it's bigger than Soul Calibur II's selection, which is good enough for me. Plus I've seen that there are tons of modes, stories, & interesting ways to unlock characters. (plus more art galleries... YAY!)

Darn it? Should I wait for chances of a port? Or get a PS2? (or I could get a cheap PS2 when PS3 comes out & then scamper off to Mexico before they find out... HEHEHEHEEE.. MW)WAHAHAHAHAHA!! (oops.. did I just say that out loud :eekSmilie

AAHHHEm. Well SCIII definitely wasn't as hyped as SCII was... which was pretty mega hyped really. But it was still hyped Smilie

Well, I don't have this game, niether have I ever played it, has anyone here got it? Smilie

I didn't even realise it was out until fairly recently.

I'll probably pick it up when I get a cheap PS2 in the near future, still a port would be nice - I've never really gotten along with the Playstation controllers...

Don't they sell those Controller converters in GAME. Although most of their stock has gone so i doubt it would be there. Perhaps you could buy the converter for the PS2 though and play with ure GC control. Quite frankly if i did get the 3rd installment i'd have 3 soul calibur games on 3 different consoles. I rarely play on SC2 as it is, so i doubt i would purchase it unless i saw it any where for less than

Same with me I guess...

I had no idea they did controller converters!! Smilie

I have SC on DC, SCII on GC. So if I got SCIII on PS2 it would completely ruin the purpose of having an SC game on a (letter)C console

Just call it the Playstation Coo or something, I'm sure after a few days you'll wonder how 2 ever used the phrase PS2 without laughing Smilie

And yeh I'd either wait for the PS3 to come out or just not bother. If you don't want a PS2 for other games as well (eg Gran Tourismo, Final Fantasy or whatever) then it probably isn't worth it.

Well, I'd like a PS2 for FF series & Tales of Legendia too... there was something else... Ooh yes.. SEGA Superstars Smilie

Wasnt there a rumour somewhere that they were working on a Soul Calibur for the DS. This was quite a while ago though

meh SoulCalibur games (and Namcos fighting games in general) are like Tony Hawk games, played one you played them all.

That's really interesting, but the news is pretty old, so I'm not sure how accurate it'll be now...

Well I was also very interested to hear that Namco wanted Link to stay exclusive to GC... that makes me think that Namco were probably planning to have SCIII on all platforms originally, & that Link would have been on the GC version, it's a shame Sony bought the game Smilie

EDIT: I like both Soul Calibur & Soul Calibur II! It's really the unlockables & mission modes that do it for me!

As for Tony Hawks, well I like both of the TH games I have (THPS3 & THAS)

Yeah there good, loved playing Soul Blade on the PS1 and was looking forward to SC2 but barly anything has changed Smilie and when you complete arcade mode you didn't even get a movie clip just pictures with writing saying what happenedSmilie

So Hazuikisan was that you who wrote that article..

I just love all the art galleries, the super secret characters like Assassin, Berzerker, Lizardman & Inferno, & the mission modes. I also like that Link is on SCII & the extra costumes & the profiles!!

I prefer Anime pictures to CG movies... even FMV :cooldude:

I like Anime. an Anime cartoon for a Soul Calibur cutscene would be the best thing EVER SmilieSmilieSmilie

How many John Boyle's do YOU know Smilie

Well any cutscene would have been enough for me.

Soul Caliber was good, but from what I heard, not much of the core gameplay changed from the original, hmmmm.

Still, it had the usaul 'hit a 3 fucking times to win fight' character to balance the whole retarded 59 fucking million button combos out.

{Guild}Ohmdal: oops wrong chat

I just completed Soul Calibur II, withy absolutely everything unlocked... it feels sooo good when there are about a million unlockables & you get them all Smilie

I love using Kilik's combos, he has loads of great ones & I'm pretty unbeatable... you guys would probably thrash me though. & if you want the best way to cheat win, then use Nightmare... he has some wicked damage attacks that are hard to dodge & easy to use Smilie

Well now I want SCIII even more, I hope it gets some sort of Nintendo console release.

I still have some stuff to unlock I think, haven't played for a while.

I think we can all agree Seung Mina is the bestest character in the whole world, though!

Except Link for cheap ring outs. Smilie

Does SCIII have online play? That would be awesome if it ever comes to the Revo, I could cane you all up. Smilie

SC and pretty much every fighting game has its strengths in multiplayer. I don't get to play with my friends too often, so I don't think SC3 is the game for me. I don't even have a PS2.

I do have a cube and SC2 is still a great game. At least not releasing SC3 for the cube does NOT make your SC2 obsolete.

To be open-minded, one must admit the possibility that anything and everything is wrong.

Well the things I enjoyed unlocking the most was Lizardman, Berserker & Assasin; Assassin for one is a brilliant character & he's cool to use, they're sooo secret they just make me happy.. or something, they don't even have profiles Smilie

As for me.... I can't agree that Seung Mina is the best.. I find her really hard to use. Kilik anyday, or if you want a cheap win then use Nightmare, never fails.

but Kilik rules, as for Link, well he's either crap, or I have never ever experienced his potential, as I find that he can't do any good attacks that don't miss quick enough before the enemy does...
