Animal Crossing: Wild World Advertising - It Begins!

Thanks to Vikki for spotting this when watching Me Or The Dog before and letting me know so I could see first hand!

Nintendo's Nintendogs sponsorship has now been replaced with Animal Crossing: Wild World advertising on Channel 4. Great move, building up the anticipation over a month in advance...looks like they're aiming for another Nintendogs style success story!

Yeah I saw it, I hope the Revolution gets this level of advertising.

I actually can't imagine it not getting this level of advertising at this stage. They'd better not drop DS advertisement, though, when Revolution comes.

It's Me Or the Dog? Nah you missed it for this week, it'll be on next tuesday at 8:30pm Channel 4 are really good for DS ads, but it seems that this program gets the better of the ads, probably because it has dogs and there was Nintendogs... so yea...

I was just thinking this though - for those of you who saw the ads, wouldn't it make AC:WW seem really... kiddy? As though it's only for kids? Cuz that's what the ad seems to be implying.. it's all cutesy and stuff and theres kids making animal noises and just being animals...

Well it isn't exactly a game aimed at 14-24 year old males, more aimed at the nintendogs crowed.

but I'm not a male... I'm a girl... and its not exactly being aimed at me... although... i like kids, and that advert is cute so... yea, it would make me buy it if I didnt have it already... I'll shut up now...

As I said on the phone earlier, I think it's aimed well so far - the viewers of the show will be girls and perhaps mothers, who will think 'aw, that's cute' at the animal-imitating children. Children, females and non-gamers are the target again, so they're pitched alright for now.

I'll see if I can spot it next week, sounds cool...

Oh... & the Nintendo DS comedy sponser thing was totally "traitored" As I saw on an advert for spoons... (sponsered by DS) The guy was playing on a PS2!!! How can Nintendo advertise for THAT!??! Surely that's not right...

& I'm expecting Revolution to get the biggest advertising campaign of all the next gen consoles, Sony don't seem to care anymore, especially since I've only ever seen ONE PSP ad...

& buy fucking shop space!!

& on the note of Animal Crossing... I've had NookWay for about 2 months now... I've been going since December & only ever been to one other town, but as soon as it comes out in UK, I'll have to many more towns to go to 'cos ALL OF MY FRIENDS ARE GETTING IT

You mean a guy on Spoons was playing PS2? Because, you know, Nintendo don't have creative control over all the programme content.

Just thought it was odd that Nintendo SPONSERED a TV show in which a guy has a PS2... I mean, think of ALL THE POOR FANBOYS!!

"Hmm, Nintendo is sponsering this program, & in this program the guy has a PS2!! Which means its GOOD!! I must get one!" Or something along those lines

On another note is the Animal Crossing monthly thing gonna start up again when AC arrives at the end of the month?

Something will be going on to do with Animal Crossing, but we've not determined an exact date - expect something after Retro Month I'd think.

The adverts this week were better, I think we're going to see pretty big sales of AC in the same way we did with Nintendogs...

Saw it, some guy doing a chicken impression. So pleased NoE are actually pushing it. Here's hoping it gets decent sales.

They had a kid saying 'WOOF' and a woman playing guitar to some of those nodding-head dog toys as well.
