I figured i'd post up this great AC site up for people to go to...

www.animalcrossingcommunity.com

It's got a pretty decent forum, and all kinds of stuff for frequent Animal Crossing players...

It's not my kind of game, but are you planning on re-starting the Animal Crossing diary? Things like that I always find amusing Smilie

I loved my AC, however I am lucky to check on things every few months. I hope they add a few more things to do, and more house expandidbility in the DS one, after 5-6 months, it becamse repeptitive unfortunately. I can't wait for it! If you start up your AC thing then, I will definately join it!

I wonder how different this game will be from the Gamecube version? It couldn't take this long to do a port...

Thats what I was thinking too epoch, but it doesn't look like there is much between them besides the gate and the old house where slider is playing.

Well all the online stuff for a start, although I hope the single player is solid as well. I think they'll be plenty of new stuff, it looks even better than the GC version as well although thats not saying much. I loved AC, played it quite regularly for a year, then thought it was time to move on. I'd be happy if its just the same kind of thing but with some new stuff added in to keep it fresh, just some classic AC but with the added convenience of portability (although rushing home at a certain time to go and do something was good fun in some ways, and I never cheated by changing the clock that would've totally ruined it) and some extras, that would be enough to get me playing again. If it turns out to be more than that then all the better, so long as it maintains the feel of the original.

Yes, we (Baseballfan and myself) will be starting up AC Weekly (maybe monthly, don't know yet) again as soon as the DS version is released Smilie.

I don't think its a port of the GC version but of Animal Forest on the N64's 64DD.

What if Nintendo, every 6 months or so, open up new worlds etc, where you can live, and if you have the money in the game you'll be able to move and buy a new house taking everything you've collected with you.

That'd be totally awesome...but for right now I mostly just wanna be able to visit everyone's towns ONLINE Smilie

I also hope that they don't make an animal move after you visit a town, cause I lost a lot of good animals that way...

That has been confirmed it's one of a few things that can happen after visiting someones town.

I'm really looking forward to Animal Crossing DS. The Gamecube version was a lot of fun, but it seemed to pale quite easily, after a good solid six months of playing it, I just gave up. It was too much of a hassle to setup my Gamecube, insert my Action Replay disc, re-insert the Wave Bird (AR didn't support it, for some odd reason) just to check out the town for ten minutes.

Now that the game is on a portable system, that changes everything, it's no hassle to grab my DS and shove a game card in. And I can do it anywhere, fit a session in whenever I have the time. It's much more convenient, and I seriously believe that alone will be enough to really boost its life span, oh, along with a little thing called online play. Smilie

Now dosen't that sound quite mischievous, you stay away from my trees! Smilie

Sounds Fun...this should be good

Dark_Ghost makes a good point if unintentional if you put a lot of long hard work into your town and then some jerk chops down all your trees and screws it up it dosent sound fun to me (unless theres a shotgun tool in this one)

There's special measures in place so you can avoid the many twat's that roam cyber space intent on ruining everyone's fun.

Basically you choose who you play with, venture forth with anyone online or get eveyone at C3's number and all your mates and they'll be the only one's you'll play with Smilie

Of course that doesn't stop drunken Scots stealing all your apples Smilie

Or whacking the fellow villagers on the head with bug catching nets.Smilie God that was fun to do in AC on Gamecube.

Smilie

Indeed. Now you could run into someone else's village, get all the animals angry then cheese it Smilie

i still think the ac series would work better if the carniverous animals in your town attaked and ate other villagers

Obviously there will be a kick option...just like in CS

Jokeing aside, this brings up a point I would like improved on in this game. I think there should be some way of getting back at (the AI, not human) characters who annoy you, not in a violent way, that wouldn't work, but in the original game, sometimes animals will annoy you, trick you out of money, etc. and theres absolutely no way of expressing anger towards them. If characters annoyed you, you could write them an angry letter, push them around all you like, not talk to them, but the AI just didn't "understand" any of it. So I'd like to see AI improved, and one of the main improvements I'd like to see is characters actually understanding you being upset with them once in a while but make it into a positive thing though, where the animals (or you) will eventually apologise and you can make up. Hopefully this is something Nintendo think of.

As for people other people online stealing/wrecking stuff; Animal Crossing is a "communication" game and whether your interacting offline with the AI or online with real people, its all about getting along and being nice to others. And if you don't, you don't get the same out of it. So hopefully the people playing will play with a respect for that and not ruin other people's villages by stealing all the fruit, cutting down trees etc, its not that kind of game and it will get very tired very easily if people did that. We don't live in a perfect world though so a way of combating any real troublemakers could be the option of excluding people from your village.

Agreed beamy. We should probably set up forums to expose the trouble makers who ruin villages aswell. Drunkeness is not an excuse 10do! Smilie

I know I probably won't be letting in a few of my freinds though, one is WAY to happy with the axe. lol

I think we can all avoid villages being vandalized providing we play with people we know. I don't see myself playing the game online with anyone else other than the C3 community, so my village should be perfectly safe. Unless someone out there really wants to be evil
