Nintendo have anounced that Mario Kart is completely finished and will be released in July.
Several features have also been announced for the game, and besides the usual four player split-screen modes, there will be the possibility to link up two GameCubed and play the game with up to eight people.

WOOHOO! 8 player Mario Kart. Bring it on!

Is it the type where you have to link up your TV's as well?
Cos if it is, no ones going to do it.

Darling fascist bully-boy,
Give me some more money, you bastard.
May the seed of your loin be fruitful in the belly of your woman,
Neil.

Most likely as the scree nwould be 2 small to see (unless you put it on a masive widescreen). I would still do it as i have pelnty of spare tvs

link? none of my sources are saying this...

I think that this is speculation as there was something along the lines of that up on NewTechnix, although my French isn't very good, it seemed that all should be revealed at E3. But, I wouldn't give up hope just yet, for the prospect of this option being true seems likely. Smilie

The 8 player is true, can't remember where I heard it though. But 2 TV's are needed, so most people won't be doing this I think. It'd be good for special events at stores and expos though.

The greatest game series of all time is Championship Manager

also be gd for competitions and stuff, cnat wait for its release

I don't think though that Nintendo have officiallly conifirmed the LAN setup, and although it seems predictable that the company are heading in this direction, it will probably be delayed from it's suposedly set "JUNE RELEASE", to something a little later for it's a game that could essentially see newfound ground in development of a high calibre franchise - Mario Kart, or a loss in creative talent. Hopefully though, the title will be a sucess and spawn back to it's classic roots, whist retaining the graphical ground that the GameCube has convered recently.

I'd have to say I believe the LAN support, as that's Nintendo's 'Big Thing (tm)' now that it has basically confirmed that online gaming is not the way it wants to go...

...and what better title to plug the idea?

To be honest, though, I don't give a donkey's toe-nail (huh?) about that. What I'm interested in is the non-Nintendo characters that may be included. Remember that Miyamoto-san stated that he thought it to be a very good idea having Sonic included...

Mario Kart in July..... No it isn't. Why?Because I saw the Nintendo rep, and he gave me a release schedule for their games up untill 2004.

Mario Kart is either Q3/4

As for the Lan connection. Yes Nintendo have said that they will say something regarding this 90% confirmed rumour. But Nintendo have not totally confirmed it.

It is said to connect two GC's to each other for 8 Player games. You will need two tv's though.

I like the sound of this. Sounds brilliant!

Well we know that the LAN connection is already available to developers, as it's been seen in action last year at the Sega booth. At the time people weren't sure whether the game being used to show the link-up feature, Phantasy Star Card Battle, was just a demo...

...but, of course, Sega eventually confirmed it to be in development. Who would have thought Sega would be the one's to help Nintendo out so much? First GBA-GC link-up game (Sonic Adventure 2/Sonic Advance), first online title (PSO I&II), first AC game (F-Zero) and first LAN title (most likely)!

Nice to see a company willing to take more risks than Nintendo...

My DS code for 42 classic games is 5026 2806 4140. Looking for people to play Rummy with. Feel free to PM your code. Also, anyone can add my Wii code if they like, PM me with yours too.

Yeah, probably...But it'll be a close call I reckon, as PS Card Battle must be finished now as well. Hmm, when do we think MK will get a Japanese launch? Hazarding an (educated?) guess, I'd go with late August / early September. That way it give enough time for the yanks to get a late Oct / early Nov and us an early / mid Dec release...

Well in the Nintendo schedule it did say between September and Decmeber for Uk.

I can see it being November. For a killer Xmas title.
