Video Problems

Hey people I'm having some problem watching movie files (particularly .avi files). Real player, Media Player, Power DVD and Divx Player all come up with various errors along the lines of needing new codec's or updates, and some just play sound but don't show any visuals.

I've tried everything I can think of, re-installing the programs as well as updating all the above programs I mentioned with the latest downloads (media player is only version 9 because I'm using Windows Me but that shouldn't matter as I have the best version I can run).

I've even run Windows update and downloaded everything from there as well as the latest version of Direct X. So now I'm fresh out of ideas, I recently-ish re-booted my hard drive so lost everything but before then I never had this problem, if anyone has any suggestions I would be most grateful.

Some of these porn videos require a special codec.

It's a movie I just downloaded of the non sexual variety, but also game trailers and the like from websites don't work.

A problem I have too, does the screen start flashing lime green when the movies playing, thats what prevents me from seeing the image, but I can hear sounds.

VLC Media player; I had a weird game trailer a while back and this program solved it, it's quite nice.

And on the subject of buggered movie players, Media Player keeps blacking out on me if anyone knows of a virus/solution that's doing this - every other player is ok though.

I had the very same problem, exactly the same problem

I had Both MR.Datas Problem and Spydarlee's problem. fixed em both. I would Recommend Nimo Codec Pack Lite or Build 9 Beta 1. Click Here For it

BTW could i just say that for this to work u need to uninstall any previous codec packs you may have
