I am starting to wonder if there really will be a next gameboy. Nintendo seems so commited to change with the DS and Revolution, that I think it would kind of go against them to create basically a PSP with "Nintendo" slapped unto it; Becuase that is what it will be if it follows the traditional slow "evolution" of the gameboy line.

You might say that the micro is proof of Nintendo's further commitment to the GB line, but I think the micro was simply an answer for portability for the people who do not like the size of the PSP or DS.

I myself would not get a GB "evolution" for the same reasons I won't get a PSP, and Nintendo would be fully contradicting themselves, and their new commitment to revolutionize gaming if they really did make a GB evolution.

What are you guys thoughts? Please make conctructive replys.

Hmm, and interesting point.

Nintendo have been saying there will be another Game Boy at some point, and I'm sure there will be- the name is just too popular to simply throw away.

The question then, is whether it will be more 'conventional' or 'Revolutionary'. Personally I don't really know what I want them to do- what I do want is for portables to stay 2D, but thanks to the PSP that looks fairly unlikely Smilie

I think we might see one in about 2 years or when GB software and hardware starts to really decline. They are launching the rev next year so i'm sure they will be busy launching it every where and getting it's online structure sorted. That leaves 2007 open for maby another Hardware launch.

If there will be a new gameboy it will most likely focus on the following:

Battery life
Size
Playability
Graphics
Comfort
Looks
Functions

Although I agree it will be similar to PSP but at least they will focus on many things that the PSP didn't especially battery life.

You found the word nipple! And you love touching them!

2007 is too early, as it's clear that the DS can support Nintendo for a good long time. Personally I think anything before Chrumbo 2008 is a rip off!

All I want from a new Gameboy is as many buttons as the DS (4 and 2 shoulder buttons), along with a great battery life, a much improved resolution from the GBA and improved ability for 2D graphics. Oh, and it needs to be cheap as well, dirt cheap!

Actually yeah maby 2007 is a bit early, in that case I would expect a DSsp arpund that time. Wonder if they will stick to solid state and use the DSs medium in the next GB.

you could be right there as Nintendo's ambition now is to offer a completely new approach to gaming maybe they will release another gameboy if all this innovation just blows up in their face so they having something to fall back on.

-Have you any idea what it's like to be a Fembot living in a Manbot's Manputer's world?
-What?

There will be another game boy, but I doubt it'll be around for another couple of years. If the Nintendo DS can handle the PSP then why stick another one in there and create indirect competition for two of your own products? As well as the GBA still selling strong.

When the NDS stops selling, they'll make another game boy
