I have read multiple articles and seen many pics of the Game Boy Micro. However, none of the articles seem to mention how the console links up to SP's and other Micro's. Also, if you look at the pictures below you will notice that it only has the "EXT 1" port which is the one for the charger.

My question is:

Is there a chance that Ninty have made the Game Boy Micro have a wireless version of the standard link cable built into the machine?

If you know any more about this than I do please post. Thanks! Smilie

Yeah, thats more than possible. It wouldn't be able to hook up to SP, or GBA though..

I suppose so because it would be stupid to go back to link cables instead of the wireless adapeter.

Either it will have it built in or you can only use the one that pokemon firered and leafgreen came with.

Good examination, galvanizer! Smilie

I think it may have no form of link....they're trying to make it as small as they can, that stuff takes up room.

If it does have wireless play with the same range as the DS then I will will definitely get it!

Imagine! Wireless Fire Emblem, Final Fantasy Tactics Adance, Advance Wars 2, Zelda: Four Swords, F-Zero, Mario Kart. The list is endless! Smilie

Thanks for the praise Link! Smilie

Unlikely, if it was possible then the Wireless adapter packaged with the new Pokemon games would be able to work with other games, which it can't. I believe it has something to do with the built in Network code to the games. But I could be wrong.

I heard that there is a link port on the micro but it's diffrent from the GBA or SP models.

I was very dissapointed that they didn't make the wireless GBA adapter work with all games, it could've really opened up multiplayer gaming on the GBA. As it stands, multiplayer is still very restricting on GBA, probably the only flaw of the console. Now with the Game Boy Micro, I don't think we're really missing much - other than it would've been nice for people to have another handheld for GC link-up, but then I've already got 4 and most people don't see things like I do and probably will trade in their old equipment anyway.

I thought the port for the charger was also used for Link cables Smilie. I'm sure it'll have a multiplayer option in it, so I wouldn't worry too much Smilie

Doubt it'll have any wireless built in, and it must have a normal link cable port somewhere...

If they could put in this wirless thing you're talking about, but have it work for GBA games, then why didn't they put it in the DS?

To give people morte of a reason to get a Game Boy Micro I guess.....

Ninty are a business and they have to think as one. Especially with PSP breathing on the DS and GBA SP's backs.

Fracturing a market with several different products is not a good idea for a business.

Considering the Japanese were buying more GBA SPs than PSPs last week, a smaller GBA will probably prolong the GBAs life and make a very pretty profit.

I don't particuarly think that having the DS, PSP and Micro is a fractured market, especially when you consider the price differences. The PSP will be

The PSP will be

Yeah, loads of people said Nintendo were fracturing the market and adding too many things with the DS and would as such go out of business. Days later Nintendo announced phenomenal profits and sales of the DS Smilie

The Micro *is* going to sell like cold beer at an AA meeting, mark my words.

As for the wireless, sorry, not included. The link port is on the top between the shoulder buttons though.

That wouldn't be very much, then.. Smilie

The handheld market isn't driven by high technology - look back through history. Its driven by the most practical machenes, and the systems with the most games. The Game Boy Micro is a true next generation Game Boy IMHO - given that power means very little in the handheld market, it shouldn't come as a suprise then that making a more powerful machene didn't come high on Nintendo's priorities. What they have made is the most portablel system ever - and hence its the most advanced handheld ever.

The way I see it, the Game Boy Micro was made to compete with the PSP, not the DS, the DS is on its own - a stand-alone machene at the cutting edge of gaming. The DS has its market, and the PSP and Game Boy Micro share a different market since they're both marketed to the same audience, they're the ones in direct competition. Who cares how many times more powerful the PSP is? The handheld market isn't driven by technology. The Game Boy Micro is cheaper, more practical and has more games than the PSP - it is based around what has always been successful, and the PSP is based around what has always been unsuccessful. All indications based on past experience show that the Game Boy Micro has to win.

What? The PS2?

What? The PS2?

No, he means portable consoles that have put power before practicality.

..but they didn't have the games. The PSP does.

Anyway, this is no PSP thread. I'm done posting about it here.

Good point but the DS is still outselling it Smilie.

I'm sure the GBM will sell well enough, maybe not AMAZINGLY, but alright at worst. Missing out on multiplayer would be a shame, but I'm sure Nintendo have put a slot in somewhere.

Let's make up a code then. Whenever you say 'gameroy Micro' we know you secretly mean PSP.

Let's try.

THE GAMEROY MICRO IS FOR LAME-ASSES AND DICKWANKS!

Wasn't that fun? Smilie

Is everyone forgetting is has a 2inch screen? It's nice, but there is such a thing as too small.
