Revolution Info Date.

"The current plan is to launch the channel as soon as we have more detailed information. According to Nintendo, those details are coming before the end of the year. My goal is to get the channel up and running shortly after we know the name and specs, and have seen the controller. I expect that we'll know most of this by late August or early September. Until then, the GameCube channel will be Revolution's short term home."

Anyway, this was in the mailbag on the IGN cube section. Matt stated in an earlier mailbag that when he "suggests,guesses or expects" that he basically has more info than we do and is basically telling us something.

Now I am either reading into this too much or taking his hint that we're going to be seeing so major info shortly.

well if its IGN then theres no point in raiseing your hopes. i doubt that anything major will be anounced or shown any time soon.

Now all we have to do is send in spies to track Matt's every move. Bug phones, hack into computer, send in stalkers, the usual.

IGN knows alot more about upcoming things than we do, I see no reason to believe that if Matt "expects" info by september/august that we wont get it by then.

TBH, I'm gonna forget about the Rev until 2006. Considering we may not see the console in Europe until 4th Qtr 2006, that's almost 18 months away. Pretty much same with PS3. At the moment I'm looking forward to the XBOX 360. Out in 5 months or so. Plus Zelda on GC and some other GC/XBOX titles I'm looking to pick up 2nd hand.

Slightly misleading title, I thought I was going to get some info on the Rev's release date. Anyway, if that info is correct it's still a few months away, and who knows what Nintendo will show then? Why waste time speculating, might aswell just enjoy the current gen and look forward to the 360 at the moment.

The only thing that puts me off getting a 360, is the price of games.

That's unconfirmed though Ikaruga, retailers always put the prices up before official announcements to avoid them having to put them up later and piss a lot of people off - this way they can either keep them the same, which won't effect those who've already ordered either way, or lower them to make them happy. I don't think there'll be that much of an increase, or if there is initially it'll begin to lower after a while because of production of the media becoming cheaper.

In fact, the 360 is almost doing a Dreamcast, releasing in between generations.
