Yeah, it also says it might be for 360 but as we all know, this is a nintendo website. Smilie

Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima has told Japanese magazine Famitsu that he chose PlayStation 3 for the next instalment in his stealth-action series because of loyalty to Sony, according to a partial translation by US website IGN.

Kojima said that the decision was an easy one because the Metal Gear Solid series had grown up with Sony hardware, the Sony market and Sony's support, it was reported.

However while the game is exclusive to PlayStation 3 at this point, it's not inconceivable that it might port to the likes of Xbox 360 and Nintendo Revolution, although the veteran developer apparently said he'd prefer to do something new with Metal Gear on those platforms - perhaps with a product that distinguishes itself as Metal Gear Acid did on the PlayStation Portable.

Kojima has previously admitted that he has his doubts about PS3 hardware. In an online interview last month, he said he was "not sure...everyone can live up to that high standard that Sony is expecting," before describing the Xbox 360 as more "down to earth".

IGN reports that his latest Famitsu interview sees him commenting on PS3's high level visuals again, before reiterating that Xbox 360 may enjoy more developer support this generation.

He also reportedly said that he expects a few more Nintendo Revolution revelations in the run up to that system's launch, expected in mid-2006.

Comment.

I'd expect the main series to remain on the PS3 (,with the possibility of later being release for the X-360), while the Revolution will get some kind of spin off series (if we're lucky that is!)

I fully expected it to appear in some shape or form, but I doubt if we'll see anything fantastic. Good to see big developers showing doubts about the PS3 though Smilie

Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima has weighed in on the battle of the next generation consoles, stressing their diversity and cautioning that he is "not sure if everyone can live up to that high standard that Sony is expecting" on PlayStation 3 - the platform for which his Konami subsidiary Kojima Productions is developing the next Metal Gear Solid title.

Speaking in an online interview, Kojima-san said Xbox 360 was "a little bit more down to earth...so people maybe can join easily to start creating on the 360," while on the Nintendo Revolution front the DS connectivity and downloadable back catalogue give him "the impression that the developers could create games on less budget".

Kojima-san then launched into a lengthy analogy about having dinner to clarify his thoughts. "PS3 would be like a dinner you only have once a year or twice a year on your anniversary," he said, whereas Xbox 360 would be something you had "two or three times a month" and Revolution "is the kind of great dinner that you have every day at your home".

"The point is that they are all individualistic dinners," he said, and as a result it is all about choice. For Kojima-san, the next-generation conflict is about "how much the dinner will be...will it be worth the cost...where can I have this dinner".

Seems that he's all for the revo but uncertain on PS3 and 360.

Hmm maby were more likly to see a boktai game instead or somthin brand new that works with the revolution unique controller

I agree, I think Revolution will be more about new IPs, althougth we need to get some franchises in the kitty.

Definitely, new franchises are a must but we need recognisable games to bring in the casuals.

I wouldn't blindly trust IGN like that - "partial" translation says it all. Still it might be true, which'll be good.

I think it would be good if the revolution got it as nintendo says they want a more mature audience.

I think theres a huge amount of potential with the Rev controls, especialy using gyro control for weight balance ad stuff.

It will be highly likely Kojima will develop either some form of MGS game on the Revolution or a brand new franchise like Botaki to use the revolutionary features of the controller.

Id be happier with a BOKTAI game for the REV then a MGS game! Smilie All i want to see is that KONAMI & NAMCO and CAPCOM support NINETNDO more then they did this generation!

I see all these people insulting the Nintendo corporation because of the lack of mature content. Yet there is something about Nintendo (at least their games) that strikes a certain unadulterated feeling of joy!!!  Pokemon Y - 1048-9263-5562
