Capcom versus Konami.

The Big one..... From the two games developers mentioned in the title, which do you think best of? AND why?

Capcom - Resident Evil
Konami - Metal Gear Solid

^ Possibly their greatest acheivements?

Think about this one: How would Resident Evil/Metal Gear Solid turn out, should an exchange of franchise take place?

Me?... a Close call.... I think Konami just about has the edge.

It depends what type of game you like but I personally like Metal gear because it some how makes the stories believable.
but past resi ain't so bad but perhaps a bit boring but res 4 certainly made it more fun

If you just talk about the companies then its definitely capcom (devilmaycry, onimusha etc)
Konami doesn't have much good games besides a few (in my opinion)

Capcom by far. For me it's Megaman, but they also have some other really good franchises.

On topic, i prefer Capcom. Due to their wide range of great games. You have Resident Evil, Viewtiful Joe, Devil May Cry, GBA Zeldas, SNK vs Capcom etc. (is Street Fighter one too?)

The only good ones from Konami i can think of are the Metal Gear Solid series, Zone Of The Enders and the Pro Evolution Soccer series. Out of those 3 that are decent, i only like 2 of them, MGS and ZOE. Me being a non-football fan.

Konami are good, but Capcom's range of games goes further to a wider audience compared to Konami. I could think of 5 Capcom games from the top of my head but only 3 from Konami.

Capcom for me. Streetfighter, Viewtiful Joe and the Resident Evils give it the edge alone IMO.

Probably Capcom i like more stuff from them them. but its pretty hard as MGS is one of my favorite games ever but thats all i really like from them.

To be fair I haven't played number 3.

This isn't to say the games didn't have their moments, but for me they were few and far between. The amount I played of 2 was miniscule, but I did watch my cusion play it, and it didn't entice me to play it.

It's a hard one for me, I loved Super Ghouls & Ghosts and Street fighter II on the SNES. Resident evil, Viewtiful Joe and Breath of fire are good games too. Capcom also did a sweet job with Zelda on the GBC and minish Cap I'm looking forward to Killer 7 also.

On the other hand Konami have some classics themselfs, Geomon and Castlevania games are great! Boktai is an excellent concept. Metal Gear and winning eleving are quite good too.

Capcom are EASILY the better developer. Obviously for the wealth of games that have been listed. Konami are still good, I was hooked on MGS on the PS1 (2 sucked, not played 3 yet), Castlevania has been awesome (with the odd stinker) and they have delivered the sheer football joy that is PES - phenomenal game. But Capcom just have so much more.

IMO the RE series walks all over the MGS series.

And the better game shone through when remade, REmake is so much better than MGSTTS, even without the 70% extra the game survived time way better.

Capcom easily.

Edit, and before anyone is pedantic I know SK remade MGS, but I'm referring to the franchise not developing skill - just to be clear.

It has to be Capcom. Konami are a great company, but they just don't have as much quality output as Capcom.

Konami are great but Capcom are better. When you consider what each has done capcom is a clear winner. While Pro Evo, Castlevania and Metal Gear series' are quality, capcom just has more.

Megaman, Resi evil, Viewtiful Joe, Street fighter and the vs games, Gregory horror show, Powerstone and no doubt Killer 7 also.

Twice as much at least.

So far everyone preffers Capcom to be the best.

and Pro Evolution Soccer Possibly Silent Hill, even though the series never managed to beat the first in the series.

I felt MG would have made a better movie than game. I haven't tried the RE series yet but I'll give it a go.

To be honest, both games have kind of passed me by in terms of their impact; neither made me want to buy them much.

Resi 4 being the only exception.

I actually think that Konami is the better company. They put so much work into their games. Metal Gear Solid is one of my favorite franchises. I just finished Sons of Liberty and I think that is my least favorite of the series.

Capcom is good to, but the only game that I really liked was Resident Evil 4 and I'm waiting on Killer 7. But even when that game comes out I will still choose Konami over Capcom unless that game is just amazing.
