I think not too long ago I posted some stuff on the "Cell" processor (thread called The "Cell" Games...). But I agree with Gastrian.

Here are more links concerning Doom3. The articles are about a year old, but I'm sure they're still relevant (had them bookmarked when researching on what GPU I should get).

Well, i ran Doom 3 with an ATi Radeon X300 128MB. With 1gig RAM, i ran it at 1024x768 (about that) resolution. It ran on full settings, who needs a 1gig card? It had no slowdown either.
