It was amazing! I got there at 12 and there was already a small que, waited for 5 hours, and then Kojima and Yoji Shinkawa, the guy who does all the MGS artwork, appeared.

In the end they were only letting people get ONE ITEM signed each, which kind of sucked, but I guess it was to deter eBayers from selling a load of signed stuff on there, and to make sure as many people got seen as possible. So I got my FOX-HOUND GameCube and MGS Premium Pack signed (my friend got the PP done for me).

Here are some photos and a few videos at the bottom. I suggest you watch the vids, they're only about 6mb each:

Kick ass! That GC may be worth alot in the future. I have that exact same issue of Official playstation magazine that demo disk ruled with all the net yarooze games Smilie.
Lots off ppl DSs there were many ppl playing each other ha ha ha omg look at the nerd with the DS in the pokemon shirt lol shit its ppl like him that give nintendo a bad name. Smilie

Yeah it was cool with all the DSs about. That guy's shirt actually said "smokemon" but anyway... I had a go on someon'e DS properly, played Mario and Pictochat for a bit, and I have to say I was a bit dissapointed. Pictochat seemed very simple and I couldn't figure it properly out without asking someone, which i didn't like. And Mario was a little tricky to control, and the graphics weren't as good as I thought they'd be. It was nice to see everyone talking on Pictochat though and having fun. There were a few PSPs there too and my God, the graphics are stunning. I didn't dare ask for a go, the guy playing who I spoke to said he only got it a few hours earlier.

Sounds, and looks, like you had a good time. That GameCube may be worth a small fortune if preserved. Smilie

Thats ok chris everyone has there own preferences i my self find the controle scheme fine and pictochat isnt really ment to be complicated.
Well i hope you had a good time and take care of that GC and your other signed goodies.

chris, where exactly are you in those pics?

Great GC, btw. You must love MGS a lot to have gotten all those MGS merchandise signed. So what did you say to mr. kojima in person. Did you say "i'm your biggest fan"?

Wow your damn lucky. Smilie

I'm not in any of the pics because I took them all. I wanted to get one with Kojima but didn't have enough time. I just shook his hand and said thank you very much. I dont think he speaks English.

Wow Kojima is a legend - His games are pure genious, so very jealous.

Well done though!

you're a lucky bastard.

A very lucky bastard..

ha.. if only there was a pic of chris in their... he was most likely stoned no? cocoa shreddies? (private joke)

Whats inside that metal gear solid special edition premium package. O_o

You found the word nipple! And you love touching them!

The game, soundtrack CD, Konami dogtags, stickers, giant Ninja/Meryl poster, postcards, and a t-shirt.

Looks like it was a blast.

Pictochat seemed very simple and I couldn't figure it properly

Is that not a bit of a contradiction Smilie

Seriously though it's new, I remember it took a fair amount of time getting used to the Analogue stick on the N64 - well worth it when it becomes second nature Smilie

Yeah I noticed it was kind of a contradiction. Let me explain better: I was slightly miffed at the fact I couldn't work out how to use Pictochat properly myself, and I didn't think it was very intuitive, that's the complicated bit. I thought I'd be able to draw pictures on the screen and send them, but it was only half the screen I could write/draw on, and there weren't really many options, that was the simple part. Am I just a dick, can you somehow write/draw on the whole of the touch screen when in Pictochat?

No I think it's just half - with half being touch keyboard and the other being free range.

I have seen some mighty impressive things done with it and I must admit your the first person I've seen who's had anything bar admiration for the great little free feature Smilie

Do you have a link to some of the things people have drawn on it? I remember some were in an old thread but the chance of finding that is slim.

Wow... looks like a great time.

To be honest it's just been general trolling (if that's the word) etc - but I've noticed some really sweet drawings, keep your eye open round the 'net and you'll see some eventually.

There's craploads of 'em here

Cheers. I see now, you have to do them in sections to make a big pic.

how big were the crowds there? as it was absolutely heaving when miyamoto came over a few years ago for a signing session/promotion. So glad I got my ocarina of time and gold majaros mask cartridges signed Smilie

Maybe 250-300 people. It wasn't really publicised. Only a few lines on their website and some flyers in-store. I think most people there were from London or massive fans.

good stuff nevertheless !
