Other news i heard that production of the amecube has now stopped

Source? I can't find anything.

Cube production hasn't stopped! Perhaps one company has stopped selling them, yes, but not stopped altogether. (unless they've got a factory full of unsold Cubes again Smilie )

Other news i heard that production of the amecube has now stopped and they aren't selling anymore for unknown reasons.

Not true. Happened over a year ago but it's not true just now, in fact the GC is doing pretty well in America - 350,000 GC's sold in two weeks after the Mario Kart Bundle Cube relaunch Smilie

Crap, just remembered more of my dream last night - the DS had a last minute price drop of 33%, ah well.

Nintendo is not jst stopping production of the Gamecube. Rumours of that are ALWAYS going around, most likely started by a Sony Fanboy.

Where did you get it from?

I got mine in Hong Kong so likely that its fake...bu it can play games though.

If they did stop Gamecube production then I would sell my gamecube for a DS. Smilie

i am going to keep my Gamecube even when they do stop production. who wouldn't?

The GameCube has another 10 Million sales left in it, that's my guess - I can't see it not making the 30 Million mark anyway!

10 million isn't exactly a lot but good nonetheless.

But put into account how long the Gamecube has already been on sale. 10 million is quite a fair bit .

It's been out what 3 or 4 years and sold 20 Million, it'll be around with more price drops for another 2 years so another 10 should be an easy target - I'll be pretty disapointed if it doesn't make 30 Million and finish second.

It will be dead in 2 years (in europe at least)

It will finish second in the end. Microsoft will stop supporting the X-Box the second a sequel gets released, while Nintendo will just whine it down slowly. Remember how they wanted the Cube and Revo to run side by side, at least for a little while?

The Cube looks like having a solid 2005, right up until Chrimbo and I can't see any major titles hitting the X-Box or PS2 in that time really, while we may get our best year yet!

Exactly.

And in terms of being second, the Cube was until Halo 2 and even that only managed a gap of something like 1 Million - it's not like MS are clearly winning, just on another fluctuation between the two but GC should previal properly in the end. Smilie

As for our year, man the GC's still got some classics left in it - maybe as many as a dozen Smilie

Resi4, Zelda, Advance Wars, Star Fox, Giest, Kirby, Mario Baseball, Kuru Kuru Kururin, Fire Emblem, Timesplitters3, (even though it's multiformat) Jungle Beat (I don't think it's out in America yet), poissible even Mario 128 or Golden Sun as well!

And I'm sure there's plenty that I've missed off!

Amen, even if Nintendo do intend to support it after the Revo launch. It'll take a series of extremely large price cuts to get rid of the cubes around here now.

People and Companies are loosing intrest already, I really can't see how it'll manage to sell steadily for another two years.

I'm guessing it'll be dead or as good as, within two years too.

Sad, but it's just how I feel.

The only console i can see living on will probably be PS2 i mean the PS1 is still (just about) going today Smilie

Yes, but the Cube could get all the games the PS2 does and could be made cheaper then the PS2 as well (I know it is at the moment but if all the games coming out are the same... Smilie )
