Mario Kart 7 (Nintendo 3DS) Reader Review

When Mario Kart 7 came out I was amazed at how much it had changed from Mario Kart Wii. New graphics, characters, kart customization, it was all so exciting to play and up to now is my favorite Mario game. However Mario Kart 7 did have its' down sides. For example the idea of gliding just wasn't taken full advantage of with most courses only seeing one short glide over part of the circuit when the idea of challenging, longer gliding areas seeming much more exciting as proved by Sonic Racing Transformed which managed to improve the gliding aspect, as for underwater driving that too was a brief appearence in game and I would like to have seen complex underwater areas like the courses in Super Mario 3D Land. What's more the removal for in game VS. mode annoyed me meaning continuous racing in teams around selected course could be done no longer making the game boring after completion. The game however does show improvements on multiplayer and wi-fi modes being significatly quicker most of the time and allows hour of fun. Over all I rate this game 9.0/10. I can't wait for Mario Kart 8 in 2014.
