Custom Dragonball Z Characters on the Way?

By Jorge Ba-oh 13.05.2008 7

The next installment in the long-running line of Dragonball Z game conversions may see a custom character creator.

Atari producer Donny Clay recently spoke on fans' requests for custom characters, after seeing the huge cast of friends and foes in action in previous installments.

Unfortunately there are some things that are requested by several different fans that we aren't able to do just yet.

For example, one of things we get asked for quite a bit is a completely custom character system from the ground up. Meaning players want to be able to build their own character with their own moves and their own look.

This is definitely something I would love to do as well, we just haven't had the chance to get this into a game yet. Don't worry though I won't forget.

With the next installment set to see even more faces and locations, creating new ones could just be the next step.

Cool Smilie. Just like you do on Dragonball Online. Hope they make you choose races like Saiyan, Namekian and Human.

We'll see lots of saiyans around here Smilie.

I saw the next gen PS3/360 game(?) recently and was very impressed by it. If I was a DBZ fan still I would buy the current Wii game, I hear it's actually not a bad game.

Atari producer Donny Clay recently spoke on fans' requests for online play, after seeing other series' do it well.

Unfortunately there are some things that are requested by several different fans that we arent able to do just yet.

For example, one of things we get asked for quite a bit is an online system that works. Meaning players want to be able to fight with others over the internet.

This is definitely something I would love to do properly for once as well. We've had months to fix DBZ BT3's slideshow lag but we just cant be bothered to get this online working in a game yet. Dont worry though I wont forget.

What I expect his attitude is over online play. It's no wonder they want to promote custom character creation, so they can hide the fact that online multiplayer plays like you are on dial-up, while someone is torrenting.

Steam: Guess what?

This'd be the eventual next step IMO - they've really used nearly every possible character in the franchise, so some form of online would be good Smilie

I'm making mine look like mine as i look like a super saiyan already.

The next step being going backwards? The next-gen DBZ game "Burst Limit" is 2D fighting style like on the original Budokai games. Talk about a step backwards.

Also it probably won't be on Wii.
